Sram 12 speed on zwift hub trainer

I think they now say you need to get your own cassette for 12 speed, however, it obviously doesn’t say that SRAM won’t work at all. I spent some time with the guys at Zwift to try and solve the issue and they couldn’t. To be fair, they did try everything they could and they were responsive, going above and beyond sio no beef with the customer service team. The JetBlack guys have also been open about trying to help, but I think its one of those things that simply wasn’t tested appropriately. I’m now waiting for a Kickr Core to arrive, but really disappointed with the Zwift misselling. .

There is exactly one SRAM 12 speed cassette available for the Hyperglide freehub: the PG-1230 with 11-50 gearing. I think you made the right choice.

*That’s for Eagle chains/groups only. Not suitable for any AXS 12 speed road setups (Red, Force, Rival).

Yes it works. At least with my 11T …

I just got a Zwift Hub and like everyone else, I didn’t know that I needed a special freehub from JetBlack for XDR. I’m running 38T x 10-42T (11T), so my XDR freehub doesn’t work. Luckily I had a SunRace cassette 11-42T (11T) and they are compatible with Sram 1x and fit in the HG cassette that comes in the Zwift Hub. Wohooo…!!! I will still buy a JetBlack freehub when they become available, so I can use my Sram cassette which is smoother than the SunRace. But for now I can ride.

I need help with finding XDR freehub body for the Zwift hub trainer in order to use my 12 speed Sram drive train.

As far as I can tell, it’s not available (yet?)

The best current option is some other trainer

The only option was the jetblack version but the remaining stock was snapped up by early users. Currently shows as unavailable and to join the wait list - JetBlack Volt XDR FreeHub Body - JetBlack Cycling

Zwift haven’t released their own copy yet either. Given the number of people that would like one, would be good business to get them back in stock

Hi I’ve just had the same problem my new bike is SRAM 12 speed. Nearly bought a new trainer the. Someone in my Tri group sent me a link to a bike shop in Australia which ships to UK within 7 business days. Total cost for hub and shipping was £43. Won’t let me up load the link but website is paragon.bike

That’s good news! @William_Norris have you received the freehub body and tried it out? Works good?

@Manuel_Dopper this could be the answer…

I have a SRAM as well and the HUB. I found the XDR adapter available but I am not sure whether or not I need a new casette as well or if the adapter works with my HUB 12 Speed cassette and my SRAM? In total this would add another 150 € to the costs of the Zwift Hub.

If you use the XDR freehub, you will need an XDR cassette. The Hyperglide cassette that came with the trainer will not work on the XDR freehub. (But this will be a factor with any trainer you buy unless it comes with a cassette - most do not)

Haven’t received yet only ordered yesterday but fingers crossed.

Says it’s been dispatched :crossed_fingers:t2:

did you also order the cassette mentioned in this thread? let me know how it works out please =)

Hi so have received the hub today and fits. I had already ordered a new SRAM 12 speed cassette for the trainer. You will 100% need to order a new cassette old one won’t work

Zwift is completely full of BS on this subject. I’ve spent days talking to people and many emails with Zwift Support with whom I get nowhere. They sent me to JetBlack - out of stock and according to JetBlack they will only sell to JetBlack customers! They sent me to Modern Bike, Modern Bike wonders why? Paragon Cycle Works (Australia, where JetBlack is) seems to be the only source In the entire world for this essential piece of hardware, and even they can only promise it will be shipping soon. If it does, and I get a SRAM Force Cassette to match what’s on my bike, the $500 smart trainer just went up to about $700. This is a really bad way to treat your customers; I think there might have been some legal issues involved…

I hope I can get an answer to find out why JetBlack will not sell Sram XDR free hubbody to Swift hub owners. They will tell you that they have the XDR freehub body but you must provide a JetBlack Volt serial # to get one.

Did the JBV XDR freehub come with a spacer? If not, did you use the existing spacer that came with the out-of-the-box freehub? I’m referring to the spacer that’s mentioned about 27 seconds in on this video on this page:

No didn’t come with a spacer
