Would be nice if we could see the current and previous interval average power (similar to how it is shown on some climbs), so it’s easier to adjust power accordingly
If you’re on ERG, no reason to show it as the average is the interval power.
I don’t do my intervals in erg anymore but even if I still did my workouts are in a range (+/-5%)
So you’re using a free ride mode? Or a standard ride where you have specific interval targets? During rides you can define laps with the companion app, and that shows the average power. Workouts are best done in ERG mode, to be honest, not sure why you would not use it.
Some workouts should really never be done in erg mode (eg short/short) but I find erg mind numbingly boring and the skill of holding steady power not carry over so I do all my workouts in resistance mode. I wish sim mode was available for workouts, that would add even more realism and mental engagement ….
You can try this, but it requires editing the .zwo file.
You can show the average power for the current interval by adding show_avg=“1” to the interval definition.
Example:

It is. Just start up a free ride (as if you were riding outdoors) do a warm up (as if etc) and do some intervals (as if etc)
But then you don’t get the arches nor xp for intervals….
Intervals in workouts have always triggered a “lap” in the .fit file. We now also have a HUD option to display it. I haven’t done a workout recently, can you not display the splits in a workout? And if not, the question is why?
BTW, it would also be great if the “splits” function worked in TTTs.

… and if your route isn’t ridiculously steep you probably make more XP via distance in free ride than you do via intervals in workout mode.
And you get to feel the road. And you can do hill repeats.

No, unfortunately, and I have the same question, why. The HUD is very useful e.g. to display L/R balance. That’s a feature I’d like to have - please upvote my request ![]()

I think your feature request is a good one and I’m confused why anyone is trying to talk you out of wanting it. If splits were enabled I would think that would handle it.

I would like to see current average power during a current interval as a display feature. For example, when riding in “free” mode average power during an interval is often a training target. It is nice to know if you need to increase or decrease your power a bit more to hit your target.
Not interested in solutions like “Just ride in erg mode” or “Use another device.” I’d like the ability to see this SPECIFIC feature. Thank you.
Use the splits (lap) button. Works perfectly.
You cannot use those in structured workouts. I want to be able to see my average power during a specific interval during a structured workout I am riding in free mode.
Ah. You confused me by using the word “free”. Most people would call that “slope” or “resistance” or even “not-erg".
FWIW, I highly recommend doing an actual free ride and using the Splits functionality to demarcate your intervals. For me, it makes the workout more fun.
