I have lost count of the number of times I have done Crit city in both directions, why does it not show that I have the route badges?
There is no badge for that

Thanks for sharing your inquiry about the route badges. This is Haziel from Zwift Support.
As mentioned, Crit City doesn’t award a route badge. It’s an event-only course; for that reason, you won’t see a badge pop up in your collection.
I will share this article from Zwift Insider, which has a clear breakdown of the route badge. They maintain the full, updated list of all routes that award badges (cycling and running), along with the XP bonuses you get for completing them. FYI there are 16 event-only routes that do have badges for cycling, Crit City routes just aren’t among them
