I’ve ran/rode by this segment multiple times and am wondering: is this where the road will meet up when/if Zwift extends the coastal road all the way around? Just curious. Share your thoughts.
It is purely decorative and probably will never go anywhere.
Could you imagine if it was a paved shortcut to get to Alpe du Zwift or similar and bypassing the jungle, there would be mass complaints from people who love the jungle. 
The other new route is this one which is supposedly part of an FTP detection method:
Maybe it will also detect those with fake power figures and zap them.

I said the exact same thing about 5 years ago when they first released the jungle.
I was hoping for a really tough climb, like the Stelvio.
It does seem like a dead end since then.
