Hello,
Sorry if this is duplication.
How are some racers signing up to capped races well below their rating?
Is this the same issue as before, where people sign up in advance at a lower score?

They were probably below the cap before the race, but set power PRs during the race that increased their seed score.
The increase in ZRS shown in the results is only the increase as a result of their race finish.
You can’t sign up for a race if your ZRS score is above the range, it is not possible.
But what @David_Galbraith said above is correct. During the race if you set a new 5 min PR the system will re-seed you and increase your score appropriately, so next race they will have to join the next pen up.
The beautiful thing about putting ZRacing on Gentil 8 is many people will actually do a 5 minute PR
Fox hill start last week was better for 5 min PR , i made lot of rider’s get new 5 min PR in the C group. clean up the Primetime C class. @Paul_Southworth
Both good options, and Hell of the North as well. I’m really pleased that they are handing out upgrades and some of those people I will not see again any time soon.
I agree with you, a race with a start on base of Epic KOM reverse or the Grade would be a brilliant thing. Everyone rolls out and straight into the climb.
I could see everyone would boycott my race ideas though. ![]()
Upgrades based on power require a 5 min PR so the smaller climbs work better for that
I had other additional motivations for the idea of a medium size climb immediately at the start, not just for the power PRs, but they would be a nice bonus.
Frustrating though for people that race regularly when so many of the top finishers in a race are clearly in the wrong category. The limit for the below was 390. 6 of the top 10 finished with a racing score well above that, and what’s going on with the winner?
post the zwiftpower link and I can help tell you
Winner doesn’t appear in ZP results as far as I can tell…
Also, remember it was slightly odd as I was showing as 16th as I finished, with no-one close to me at all, but as soon as the results came up it said I was 17th…
yup he isn’t there, 2nd place however is. It was his first race, level 8 zwifter, so no good efforts prior to this to properly seed them. Now they have a good baseline.
3rd place hasn’t done a race in almost 12 months, so that would be a decay issue taking their score down below the 390 threshold and now back up after a good result.
and the same with 4th place
5th place, first race, level 4 zwifter, no good data before today to give him a proper seed score.
Appreciate the explanations. I think this is a consequence of this month’s zRacing series also being the Tour de Zwift and new year signups as there were more racing than normal. Still frustrating as a regular racer though!
100%
plus the results on Zwift don’t tell the entire story, that is why you need to use the ZP ZRS plugin for Chrome and look at zwiftpower
Wow - what an amazing extension. Works in Edge as well - thanks!
