I have a question on racing score, specifically if the race is all cats at the same time and listed as 0-1000
Am I right in thinking my score went down after one of those races because I was spanked by A riders as well as the real B riders who finished well ahead of me?
I’m a bottom level B rider on a good day, so to stop my score decreasing each time…I should look for the races with scores around that of my own rather than the 0-1000 ones?
If there are multiple categories in the event, then you are being compared to the people within your category even if all categories start at once and race together. If it’s all riders in a single category then you are being compared to all participants.
Thanks for coming out. I’ve observed some weird things in ZRS in our races - but it’s getting better.
I’d say your rating drop is probably accurate - I see a couple riders I know finished ahead of you, of those two one is a low C and one middle C (by ZRS)
I’m a strong-ish C at the moment, either by old power categories or ZRS, and I finished about 1½ minutes faster than you did, albeit in a different race. My ZRS is 65 points higher than yours and still climbing almost every race I do.
I’d say you probably should be racing in the lowest category you can by ZRS. Your extremely flat power profile isn’t going to do you favours in most racing. Still come out and have fun - but yea, you probably won’t gain ZRS points.
I hardly ever race on Zwift tbh, in the real world I time trial so steady efforts rather than sprinting up short punchy hills is more me.
In that race, I was pretty happy to just hang in the group after a few weeks of illness , definitely wasn’t up for sprinting for 45274th place but I did enjoy the event…… in all honesty I only entered it to get the route badge…… but I’ll be back.
