Jeez, they’re not asking to display your d*ck size; what’s the issue with this? Has the world gone mad…
A lot of people are very sensitive about their weight. Show some compassion.
he is on ZP.
But anyway the main thing we need to get away from is avoid people being in races that then don’t appear in ZP results. Two ways i see.
- Another event filter to only those riders registered on ZP.
- Automatically register everyone on ZP. This might upset some with privacy issues. Although if you are racing I’d suggest height and weight are pretty key in the same way power all makes up part of a riders profile.
The problem with 1 it’s adding more barriers to entry and confusion to new riders. Imagine a new zwifter now…what is ZP, what’s my ZP cat, what is CE. Do I need HRM. Do i need smart trainer. The whole onboarding to racing really needs an overhaul when when riders first sign up a lot of this is displayed and explained a bit like how when you first start Zwift there is a tutorial.
Ironically, it kicked off because transparency was/is one of the only ways of holding sandbaggers and blatant cheats to account.
I suspect this is a breach of GDPR.
We’re looking at bringing in hardware restrictions (eg. must be on a smart trainer / have power meter). I wonder if we can do anything similar about people who don’t have a ZP profile.
We do however still need races (and we’re looking at races for new Zwifters) that support ZPower and those not on Zwiftpower.
Yeah, I know exactly why it happened.
This is the way forward. It’s impossible to get rid of all shady behaviour, but the tools need to allow at least some self-policing by the community. If the rules for an event prevent you from even signing up, nobody* can complain - as long as there are alternatives available.
*they will
Probably, even though ZP and Zwift are the same now I suspect there is some GDPR law against publishing riders data so maybe the latter restrict signups and make it a better use experience to explain why they are being restricted could be the better solution.
On that if in the future we are going to have restrictions on Cat, hrm, training etc it would be good if we could filter for such in companion. ZP/Zwifthacks are my go to when looking at events but I’m assuming a lot of casual races just browse companion app and that will get frustrating quickly without being able to filter out the things you can’t enter.
For me. Having 2 systems/calculations is confusing my simple brain. Pick one and stick with it.
I’m about to apply for a maths course just so I can work out my CP30 or whatever it’s called.
Our lack of search + filtering tools is a pretty big annoyance to me so I understand. For me to have to rely on ZH given what my day job is, is a bit daft ![]()
It’s also being worked on.
I find it odd that the events have all these tags that the likes of ZwiftHacks can identify, allowing for filtering and sorting etc, but the Companion doesn’t see them. The functionality should match the available data IMO. Races ‘for me’ would ideally be part of that.
I haven’t seen anything yet (I generally wouldn’t be involved on these sort of things) but I would be shocked if races were not included.
Blimey, I only asked for CE data to be available on ZP where people have already signed privacy statements etc regarding their data. Can we get back to the point please?
Point noted.
Blame James. Either is fine.
James told me to say that.
I don’t see any reason you can’t do both of these. Everyone should be registered to ZP by default. However, simple option which I think already exists, is to have a private vs public (or full vs limited) account. Any individual can see everything about themselves on Zwift or ZP. However, ‘private’ profile accounts are filtered from ZP event results and while watts, CP/MAP, ZPCat could be displayed, wkg, height, weight, age(?) would not be.
Ooh get you Mr Bossy pants
. I don’t really care what is displayed as long as it’s one thing. Having Zwift enforcing a catagory and ZP giving other data doesn’t make sense. Roll CE and it workings out across the board. Then everyone knows where they are at.
If it is, there is a significant issue with people broadcasting others data over YouTube etc
That zwift data tool that displays averages can pull and display any riders data, a 3rd party can broadcast your HR/WKG data to the world via YouTube, twitch etc.
If zwiftpower is behind a login screen and not open to the world that covers a lot of the privacy issues.
I don’t think the right place for CE profiles should be in ZP, it has nothing to do with ZP.
It is easy to see in what CE category you need to race, just enter a race. ![]()
ZP is just the place where all your results are stored.
If zwiftpower is to stay long term, then I feel it should host that data…
It becomes a one stop shop for all race info.
