Prevent Loss of Progress Due to Accidental U-Turn on Routes

Currently the U-Turn button is the default option when opening the pop-up menu during a ride. This placement combined with the fact that there are no confirmation requirements before making a U-Turn, and that making a U-Turn during a route removes you from the route causing the loss of all route progress, is a very poor UX. Some ideas…

  1. U-Turn should not be the default option upon opening the menu.
  2. Selecting U-Turn during a Route should require confirmation from the rider with a warning that all route progress will be lost.
  3. Allow a U-Turn rider to re-join a route by U-Turning again within a specified time or distance.

The most obvious example of the problem here is that accidentally double-tapping the AppleTV remote during a ride with the intention of only bringing up the menu will cause you to be removed from the Route with no way to recover. All Route progress is immediately lost.
