I’ve downloaded zwift and I have tried to connect my favero assioma pedals to my mid-2010 MacBook Pro. Nothing shows up on zwift when I try to connect them, nothing also shows up on the Bluetooth section on system preferences either. I then tried to connect them to my phone and rode on zwift on my iPhone. I’ve done all the troubleshooting stuff including rebooting, deleting corrupt files etc. But nothing seems to be working. I tried to go on a group ride as well today and joined mid-way through, this caused me to start my 7 day free trial when I haven’t even made one pedal stroke on my mac! Has anyone experienced this issue? If so how did you fix it?
Since you’re using an older MacBook, we’d need to examine the specs of your computer in order to determine if it’s supported for use with BLE devices. For that, please submit a support ticket if you haven’t already done so, and one of our support agents will be happy to take a closer look at this matter.
Assuming it is supported, it could be an issue with the Bluetooth drivers or settings on your device. I recommend following the troubleshooting steps listed in this article from our Zwift Support Hub.
I am pretty sure that MacBooks did not ship standard with Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) until mid-2011.
If this is the case, you will not be able to use that MacBook w/Bluetooth for Zwift.
You can check your MacBook support for BLE via: “About this Mac”, click on “System Report”, Find “Bluetooth” under the hardware section and select it. Then look for the line detailing whether or not Bluetooth Low Energy is supported or not:
