Pace Partners Weekly Update // August 1st

It is because Big foots hills is hilly route.I agree to keep this route for A group. But how many people will ride with A group on the flat routes?

I think you compare to Big Loop is not correct because it is climbing route. Also, in my opinion, it is the hardest route in this 8 weeks. Bigger Loop is better than big loop. At least it has more flat route for recover the body.

Anyway, I want to increase climbing for A group and decrease flat routes. You can also keep those hilly routes. But, like you said, I don’t think you will change your decision.

Yes, I don’t think I’ll be riding Group A again. Or maybe I’ll only join the hilly route.

I have seen some riders sitting in front of the Anquetil all the time in Epic KOM because they are strong and light.

I always ride more than 4 hours so it’s hard to use a CX, MTB or TT bike. If you use RB, you can still recover after a mountain.

Brilliant work @James_Zwift very much appreciated :fist_right:t2::fist_left:t2:

Have the new pace partners earned their Tron Bikes? :joy:

Great work with the Pace Partners James!

YES JAMES! Well done to you and the PP Dev team. Thank you!

I wish there was a way to not get caught up in the group.

I don’t like riding in big groups and got caught in the 3 w/kg one on france the past couple of days and as there are no turns for about 12 miles on the france course i was stuck in it. anything from 2 w/kg to 4 w/kg seemed to keep me in the bunch.

It means all my 90 day PRs are pointless now as they are about 3 seconds quicker than usual and it also makes the progress bar for the route disappear.

Sometimes when you get stuck in the draft you really need to sit up and soft pedal to get out the group.

I know but i very rarely want to do that!

I guess I could just hit the pairing screen for a few seconds - i’ll try that next time.

Is there any chance to not have the route bar disappear in future updates though?

A couple of u-turns?

That’s out of scope for what I’m able to do. Will keep an eye out though, I don’t think that should be happening (the route distance bit)

it comes back when you’re away from the pace partner but while you’re in the group it gets changed to the drops multiplier.

that boots you off your route then though

Ah, definitely no way to change that I’m afraid.

Hi @James_Zwift , pace partners have been great! I do have one feedback, though- now that we have the (awesome) dynamic paces, the displayed paces on the PP page on the homescreen now shows live pace. However, I have found this unhelpful because I can’t really tell how fast the partners normally go (ie when they are on flat ground. This gives me an idea of the range of power between downhill, flat, and uphill). I use the displayed paces to decide which one I want to join, especially on easy days when I am trying to decide between two or more D partners. Thus I thought I’d ask if both the live and the 0%-grade paces could be displayed.
I guess I could just memorize the paces, especially if PPs are getting more finalized. But it would be nice to see both live and 0% paces on the homescreen page.

Oh nooooo.

I just discovered Charlie earlier tonight and, for me, he is fantastic. Coco is too easy and Charlie is a bit too hard which is good.

And now I just learned Charlie isn’t going to make it.

Hmph
