No power calibration icon

I’ve just set my bike up on my son’s trainer as mine has broken. Only issue is I can’t calibrate the power output so reading and speed is ridiculously low. Followed the YouTube tutorials but no ‘wrench” appears and the unpair option doesn’t come up either.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Which trainer is it? Calibration should generally be done in the manufacturer’s app, not in Zwift.

Thanks Paul

Tacx

Pretty sure I never did that with the old one as that would be well beyond my capabilities!!!

It depends on which Tacx trainer it is. If it’s something like a Neo 2T, there is no calibration possible. If it’s a Flux or Flow Smart or something like that, you can use the Tacx app to calibrate it.

Thanks again Paul

It’s a Tacx Vortex

Tried the Tacx Garmin app but it just keeps telling me to connect to Bluetooth which I have done and the Zwift app finds it so I’m definitely connected.
When following the tutorial the wrench in the picture doesn’t appear. Same in the menu page which doesn’t give me the option to unpair either.

Turn off Zwift, run the Tacx app, calibrate it there. Calibration is saved to the trainer and does not need to be repeated in Zwift.

Thanks Paul

Will have to try that in the morning.

Really appreciate your help.

Hi @Alan_Lines, welcome back to the forums! This is Monica from the Zwift Team. I understand how important it is for you to resolve the calibration issue with your trainer.

After reviewing your account, I can see that your trainer is a Tacx Vortex. According to this helpful article, this trainer needs to be calibrated using the manufacturer’s app, as @Paul_Southworth mentioned.

Additionally, after calibration, I recommend updating the game version by following the steps outlined here.

If the issue persists, please contact us at support@zwift.com.

Garmin also has a support document for calibrating the Vortex

Since you said power readings appear to be low, that can be caused by tire slippage. A slipping tire on a wheel-on trainer can be caused by insufficient roller tension, a dirty roller, using an incorrect type of tire, or using a tire that is very old so the rubber is no longer grippy enough.
