No Finish line in After-Party Stage 1

I did the 11:10 AM Pacific Daylight Time race above. After one lap including the Climb Portal and back out to Ocean Blvd. the distance remaining indicator went to zero but there was no finish line and no option except to quit the event which lost all the data!!!

That’s a risk of doing any climb portal events currently. I know they are aware of it. I don’t think there’s any fix for your lost race.

Same her, did the 9:10 and past the Climb Portal finish after about 28.13 but continued 40min and 25 km to make sure a new lap started and I was the only one left.
Saw several asking in the massage board if it was over or not.

James posted about this on Facebook. It sounds like there are two problems with different solutions:

  1. If you end up on the wrong route, it may be because the portal configs are only loaded when you log in. If you do not terminate the app and do a fresh log in before the event, you may be routed incorrectly.

  2. If you’re routed to the correct climb but the finish doesn’t work properly, that’s a separate problem and they are changing the routes for ZRacing stage 1 to do a complete lap instead of finishing at the top in order to work around this.

I did the 6pm race tonight and have the same problem.I went through the banner at the top of the portal in 24th place and then it said I was in 4th place! I continued to the bottom and when I came out of the portal it said I had 3km to go? I continued but once the counter got to zero, nothing! I saved my ride but zwift has me as a DNF?

Can the FB post be posted on the forums?

maybe the support crew can post these sorts of things on the forum for James? @shooj @Jose_R89

Thanks, Paul, for posting the note from James. The race was set to end not at an arch but at an unmarked location a ways after one turns left on Ocean Blvd instead of proceeding up the Hilly Loop route to the KOM arch. I could see the “distance remaining” indicator count down to 0 but then no Finish results popped up. I kept going down through the undersea tunnels for a while but couldn’t find any way to end the event except for quitting. Fortunately I was at least able to save my results in my Activities list and Strava, but I was marked as “DNF” and was not listed in the race results list in Zwift Companion nor in Zwiftpower.

I should also note that I joined the event over 15 minutes before it started. Is it possible that the route was set or modified after that time?!?!? Many people DID complete the event. The “Zwift Insider” article about this month’s racing series said something about the “event organizer” having the option to set the course for this stage to either end at the top of the Climb Portal OR out on Ocean Blvd. Perhaps a course change was made shortly before the race started and those already in the starting area got an earlier and now conflicting set of parameters?!?

Yeah it’s really hard to guess what is going on. Hopefully they get it worked out in some fashion soon. Personally, knowing what I already knew about the climb portal events and how this one is going, I would do some other event at least until there is evidence of resolution. The GC is ruined regardless so from that perspective it does not matter.

I would use a different word than silly, but don’t want to scare James off again.

Yeah, I’m on iOS, did the stage 1 after party at 10.10 160-270. was in 3 breakaway with a 1st podium in sight and got sent up the climb portal and came 21st . I had joined early.

I was 3rd. First podium in a long time, but I did not get the finish line at the top of climb portal. I was in the shorter race (no full lap). The distance was not visible under the normal progress bar (only under map), maybe it has something to do with that issue.

Subject: No finish line on April 1st After Party Race

Hi,
I did the After Party Race on April 1st, but there was no finish line at the end. Just wondering if that was a bug or if results will be adjusted?
Thank

Yeap, I was in that race.. Went up the climb in the portal. Completed the climb. Descended the portal back into Watopia and raced to the chequered flag. Still no race result on screenat that point.
Decided to end the activity just at 24km mark. I had a DNF with no racing score.

I ended up doing the climb portal the next day.

Same problem in the 6:10pm EST race today. As we headed up the portal I lost the distance to finish graphic on the mini map and placing in the race - having not ridden a portal didn’t know if it was a feature or bug. Climbed, finished climb, rode back down into Watopia. I quit after riding 22 or 23k in a 18.7k race. I “won” the race I was in, but can’t figure out if it was because I was only racing against a handful of people, or the full field.

But kinda BS that zwift can’t flag the issue in the race sign up if they can’t fix it. Reading this post, maybe they moved the finish, or maybe it’s because I’m on Apple TV, but a big
flashing warning or statement when you’re signing up would help. It literally would be 2 minutes for somebody to adjust the event description. I don’t Facebook so posting there isn’t a fix.

Come on guys, love you, but this is like missing a lay up.
