No credit for route of the week

Did the sand and sequoias route this morning but didn’t receive the 500 XP. Did the full route, and picked the route from list to intentionally ride that route. But no XP. Anyone else experience this? Prior weeks routes have been working fine for me, but not today. Odd.

I’m not sure picking it from the route list would count. I could be wrong, though.
To be sure to get credit for the route of the week you should pick the route from the Challenge Card on the home screen.

did you register for route of the week before selecting your workout and then your route.

Ah, I bet that is what happened. Thanks Sue! Afterwards I clicked on the icon, and it showed as incomplete (but ultimately that registered me). I’ll try it again now that it is showing as incomplete. Thanks again,
Jim

I’m pretty sure that Dan’s solution above is the correct one - No credit for route of the week - #2 by Dan_Kothlow

There’s no “registering” for Route Of The Week that I’m aware of. There’s just actually riding it each week, which requires selecting it from the home screen icon and not just picking it from the route list.

If you click on the icon one week, then the next week you just pick the new route from the route list, you likely won’t get the XP bonus for the latter.

Seems kind of silly to be like click this button to get a reward for this thing, no not that button, wrong button whoops no reward for you.

I think we are all ultimately coming to the same conclusion. There isn’t a “registering” but you ultimately do have to click the icon each week. Prior to clicking the route of the week icon, it says “leaving soon”; once you click it and enter it, even without doing it, it now says “0 of 1 complete”. Last week I did NOT complete the route from that icon yet still got credit. Thinking about the process: I opened it by clicking the icon; later, I did the ride by picked the route, and it gave me credit. And to Paul’s point, it does seem silly to have to go through these steps on a single route to get credit, but thankfully the routes are easy and short. If it were London PRL I’d feel very differently!
