New Halo Bikes, New Drop Shop Bikes [March 2025]

The solution was said by someone a good while ago.. they should have done a challenge like this based on power expenditure, not ‘distance’. In fact they should never consider a distance-based challenge ever again if the planned reward actually provides the recipient in-game performance benefits.

Easy enough for me.

Do you know what kind of crazy uproar will happen by suggesting that? I agree - or even in the settings if possible I’d have a disable coffee stops (for me) which means I don’t get to use them, but also I’m not dragging anyone else along. When I was going up Ventop I just came to a complete stop.

You could allow teleport to the bottom of the descent that the other rider is going down and then you wait with an indicator counting down the time/distance that rider is away from you. That would stop all of this.

Today I unlocked the “Halo of Hard Graft” - much better than the “Halo of Exploitations” that others had unlocked.

Cool! @Crazy-Cat did you finally get the BMX bike in the Big Spin? I thought of you every time I went through the finish of those rides. I think I “won” three of them in about 60 spins. I did it mostly for the Drops to pay for all these “great” upgrades that will magically make fast like Pogi!

That this sentence appears in a sentence with the name Elon Musk is not a surprise to me.

Yes I got the BMX on Spin 48 after the Zwift update that “fixed the reliability of the big spin wheel”! I then got it again on spin 49 too!

There were two “improved the reliability of The Big Spin wheel” updates during the events. I was hoping it meant “throw people a bit of a bone” as they got closer to the end, but with the number of spins it took many people to get BMX bikes, and some left empty, I’m not so sure.

Last year it took me 26 spins on Suki’s Playground to unlock Atomic Cruiser, 21 full rides, 5 late joins because that one was short enough to rejoin on the attempts I pushed a bit more. I was quoted in The Zommunique about burning over 6,000 calories in the first two days trying to unlock that bike. I had it early that Wednesday, thank goodness.

This time for BMX Bike, I got it on the 10th spin and was able to pick it to fully upgrade as soon as the upgrades started. I now have a carbon BMX bike in my Zwift Garage.

Great job finally getting the bike! Recalling my experience with the Alpe prize wheel for the wheelset, I figured it is best to unlock all of the “Global” items in The Big Spin during the first stage to increase chances of landing on stage-specific items. One stage, however, I had to do ten times this year to unlock the stage-specific items. Another, however, I had on the first and second spins for that stage.

this would be my ideal scenario!

In my experience, if you stop completely for a few seconds so the one on coffee stop following you stops as well, when you start moving, they stay put until they start pedalling…

We’re now over 800 posts into this topic. Wouldn’t it be so simple for Zwift to just respond and let us know if it’s not okay to do these things? They clearly read these posts as they respond in other topics.

They make the rules, and they can let us know if this is against the rules. Otherwise it’s just endless arguments about what’s right and what’s not…

Zwift tend to not get involved in telling people what they can and cannot do unless it impacts their money making abilities

Maybe will be enabled when phased rollout is complete.

As stated above, ZHQ is pretty tight lipped about their plans, especially if it concerns honestly.
They have taken a position that the less loopholes are discussed, the less they will be known and used and there is some truth to that approach.

ZHQ did close the loophole allowing TT bikes to up grade by sitting at the side of the road. (reported but I have not tested).
They didn’t announce that they did so.
We don’t know what else they are doing but I feel that the concerns that get voice do generate a lot of discord at Zwift.

Wow, that’s impressive!! Out of interest, which three bikes did you upgrade fully to get the halo?

I did the Venge, Aethos (I love climbing) and the SL8! I am now doing the 3 Zwift bikes as they are easier as they requires less kms!

As a non tech person what on earth does that mean?!

It means they are implementing measures to prevent cheating.
