*but it could be.
Something totally different.
If I dont have enough drops to buy an upgrade. Do the kilometers still add up eventough I cant buy the upgrade or will they stop till I buy the upgrade ?
In the 2nd case I could rather start with a different frame and get that up till the upgrade distance also.
does anyone know ?
I donât know the answer for sure, but when I fulfilled the required distance to upgrade my SL8, I was riding in an event and could not purchase the upgrade without stopping.
I chose to continue riding and purchased the up grade after finishing the ride.
My mileage was already accumulating for the 2nd upgrade despite not purchasing the first up grade.
This is good to know. So if you get to 200km and donât stop to buy the upgrade, and then ride another 10km, then stop and buy the upgrade and end the ride, youâll be 10km into the next distance needed?
That is true. But only if you buy the upgrade before ending the ride. If you end the ride and enter the garage from the homescreen again to buy the upgrade you will lose the 10km extra.
Good questions.
I know of at least one 110+kg rider who rode RAAM, so itâs not the weight, itâs the training.
Oh ho, also good to know, thanks.
Iâm pretty sure you would lose any progress toward the next upgrade if you donât, or are unable to, purchase the current one before exiting the game.
So, be sure to give out lots of Ride Ons, so that you get plenty in return, and donât have to worry about running out! Or do as many more Big Spin events (or free rides) as you can, and hope the spinner lands on something you already have, so that you get a load of Drops!
How did you get into the situation of being so advanced in upgrades but without enough drops to purchase the next one?
Spend plenty of time riding with the faster robopacers (Jacques or genie or Constance), give lots of ride ons. You could try big spin events, but longer rides with the fast robopacers are better.
As a bonus, youâll also accrue distance towards your next upgrade.
Folks doing teleports down ADZ and Ventop at 0 watts get distance but no drops.
I am not in that situation yet, but with just 2.1M drops I could forsee myself getting into that position so I want to be prepared when it happens.
I never ride with robopacers since that is utterly boring in my opinion and do mostly just races which dont give that many drops.
Lots of robopacer riding with the faster groups will get you plenty of drops - probably the best way. Get up to 2.5x multiplier and stay there.
Thanks, will probably do that in between. And am starting my Aethos upgrades tomorrow so that should give some more drops also.
And just looked what the fastest entry level frame is (Parlee ESX) so might buy that and get it upgraded so I get the 5% bonus drops after level 4.
Sure anything could be anything. In this case though there is a bug and itâs being patched and it will work as I described.
Doubt thatâs worth it. Save your drops.
Yes. But you must upgrade in the same activity.
From the FAQ:
âPro Tip: To maximize your progress, purchase your bike upgrade as soon as you complete the ride that meets the distance, elevation, or time requirement for that stage. This way, any extra progress beyond the requirement will count toward the next stage. If you wait until your next ride to upgrade, youâll start the next stage from zero.â
This is what I did on my first upgrade. I got the popup during the middle of an event, waited till the end of the event and then upgraded the bike and got the credit for the extra kms I did.
Yes, but do you start your next phase if you dont buy the upgrade in the next ride or does it get blocked ?
within that ride any mileage you do after achieving the level will be counted towards the next level but only if you upgrade to the next level before exiting the game after that ride.
Once you exit the extra mileage will be lost.
" Q: Do I have to purchase an unlocked Bike Upgrade to earn progress towards the next upgrade stage?
A: Yes, once youâve unlocked a Bike Upgrade, you must purchase that upgrade to earn progress for the next Bike Upgrade stage."
Does this answer your question?
You might be right here. With 5% extra drops I would get 50.000 extra drops on every million drops I make.
The frame is 150k and with an extra 400k upgrades I would break even after 10.5M drops. Thats not really worth it indeed. Certainly since during that time I wont be making progress on other frames. This might be an idea when I have done all frames I need/want upgraded.
