Frowned upon to have the second account at the top. Genius to just be friends with that person.
You need to fully upgrade three other Zwift bikes first, as you know.
Iām not saying Iāve scientifically worked this out as the most efficient path, and I might have overlooked something. But here goes ā¦
All the Zwift bikes are in the āentry levelā category, making them easier to upgrade than many. So then itās just a choice of which bike. Theyāre all distance-based, apart from the time-based Zwift TT and the elevation-based Mountain.
Iād suggest that of the distance bikes, upgrading a slightly faster one will be easier than a slow one. The handcycle seems like it would be a good choice if you ride flat routes, since itās so aero. The Zwift Aero is the fastest of those Zwift bikes on the road, so is likely another decent choice.
Maybe then the Zwift TT, because (using Stage 1 as an example), 120 minutes of riding is likely to be less time than riding 100km/62miles, even if you canāt draft.
So the Aero, Hand cycle and the TT.
To be fair, we are individuals with individual approaches to merging things. But thereās no need to be snarky.
If your power profile is decent, Iād argue the Zwift mountain bike might be a touch faster than any of those. Unlocking the first level is only one trip up the Alpe, and the second is only a mere 250m elevation beyond that. It might even be worth taking this rig up Oh Hill No a few times since its elevation profile is pretty unrelenting other than the halfway point, and slightly steeper overall than the Alpe.
I agree with the TT bike and handcycle, though. Those would be faster, but man, 20 hours on a TT bike sounds atrocious to meā¦

and if one does not have a glorious power profile (to @SnowDogās point) then itās a matter of picking the TT bike and the two fastest distance bikes. And looking the raw numbers from @oldnapalm

then all of the Zwift bikes are entry (except for the Tron bike)? And itās a total of 800 km on each of the two distance-based bike and 20 hours on the TT bike; then start working on the Tron bike?
Yep, the others are all entry (as I said) but they all have different speeds on the road due to their different stats (weight, aero, rolling resistance).
Which is great. Fun to hammer a climb and pass people while riding the Atomic Cruiser or BMX
Itās certainly a long winded and complex process and Iām sure some people wonāt bother
After you get done with the Zwift entry level bikes, the TRON upgrade will take ~4968 miles, since itās a distance bike.
ā¦ not forgetting to switch bikes to a distance bike for the trip back to the bottom when youāre done climbing.
Yeah that can save a few hours but the 8000km the concept bikes require to reach level 5 is still something like 240-280 hours of riding soloā¦
Whatās to stop me from changing the power settings on my pedals so that it doubles the power output?
I wonāt be doing this, but Iām concerned that Zwift wonāt be allocating any resources to crack down on cheating.
It would be nice if they could fine riders, in addition to suspending their membership for a specific duration based on the infraction. Until they pay the fine they wouldnāt be allowed back on the platform.
How do you propose they impose that? Zwift has no authority to do anything like that. The best you can hope for is a warning with a ride alone for a few months feature applied to that rider or maybe a ban.
If the rider isnāt doing burning up leaderboards or making havoc in races then probably not much you could do.
What if someone had two people riding on the same account in order to get upgrades faster, or even just to have more distance than anyone else? One person rides in the morning, another in the evening. That would have same effect.
Yep, itās going to take some time (although I have 16k km on my current trainer+bike rig and the vast majority of that was on the Tron so I really fell that I should get a fully upgraded Tron personally delivered by Zwiftās CEO) and hence I want to get as soon as possible to the state where the time on the trainer count towards upgrading the Tron.
Looking at the performance data then the path seems to be Zwift Aero, Handcycle, TT and then Tron.
If nothing else, at least there is now something to spend the massive amount of drops on.
Iām not a very prolific Zwifter like some here, and Iāve bought several frames and wheels from the drop shop over the years. I have 7.2 million drops.
Iāll be able to update quite a few bikes, but probably wonāt make the last stage of the TRON. I will probably run out of drops just after the 4th TRON update.
You should have more, many more drops by then if you only spend them on your the upgrade path to the tron. Youāll probably have more drops left then than you have now when you are done upgrading because it takes so many kilometers
That isnāt so much in the way of drops. I know a person who has 265,000,000. before this whole thing I had 35,500,000 - but I had spent on nearly all bikes and wheels so I skip having to buy expensive bikes and wheels after they had price adjustments.
Ride with robopacers for many hours to get heaps of drops. That should get you enough to get through the upgrades.
So the podium places get that bike as well?
Or did someone find a way to get itā¦ Interesting - I havenāt seen one of those yet.
I also havenāt seen any halo bikes yet with real riders although I understand some of the distance leaders in Zwift might have them mid next week.
Some of these people ride 7-8h per day in Zwift, and ride outside and work, donāt ask me how. Sleep, whatās that?
As the Tron bike is considered a Halo bike but most of us already have it, once the Tron is fully upgraded, can you get the Gold Tron?..
That would be the only reason i could be bothered to work on upgrading a bike if you could get a different coloured Tron to the standard colours
