I won’t be spending drops on skins for a bike. I don’t know whose idea it was for this but it shouldn’t go any further.
I’m not against using drops for skins i actually think it’s a decent idea to soak up some drops and give people some customisation just the way this is being delivered is a bit of a fail
I probably would if they were just added to the Canyon 2024 as an extra skin. Lets say for 500k drops per skin. But I am for sure not going to buy a frame that is the same as the one I already have and have to upgrade it again by spending hours and hours and millions of drops again just to look different.
That’s even way too expensive as well.
Really, I think most folks would just be happy with bikes that have the colour slider working. I remember making a topic ages ago on that topic of which bikes had the sliders working back in those times.
Some folks are just never going to use drops no matter what. They have their Tron bike and they aren’t going to use anything else, so those folks will always end up with 100,000,000 drops or some other enormous figure.
If the problem is those folks having too many drops then maybe the Tron bike is adjusted so it cannot be kept, it has to be leased monthly for 500,000 drops each month. I don’t know. That sounds stupid as well, if it’s just for the sake of reducing the hard earned drops people have.
But why is it a decent idea? And what if folks just don’t engage at all with it. Then you have users that have hundreds of millions of drops and then another cohort of users with low amounts of drops who won’t be able to buy anything available because it will take them too long to earn enough to afford those new items.
And then you have the bot accounts who will just drone around at 4w/kg for hundreds of kilometres all day every day who will also defeat the process.
Maybe you could charge 25,000,000 drops to “organise my garage” to soak up drops…
I don’t have enough drops for these. If I buy an actual Canyon bike to ride on do you think they’ll have a voucher/qr code that I can use for a Canyon drop shop bike in the future?
Was with Miguel pace today and he CONSTANTLY kept going on about all the canyon bikes. It’s as if Canyon paid for sponsorship. I’m sure zwift could tone this down as it did seem it was being rammed down our throats…
Bring on the new Canyon design!
I love how the updated Canyon bikes look – sleek, sharp, and perfect for Watopia. Sure, upgrades start at level 1 again, but that’s part of the fun for me. Every ride feels more rewarding when there’s something stylish to work toward.
As soon as my Specialized Halo hits level 5, I’ll be switching over to the Canyon. Great to finally have the best IRL bike in Zwift with such an awesome new design! ![]()

Adding ever more drop sinks without adding ways to earn more drops… soon coming to a zwift store near you; buy 1.000.000 drops for the low price of €99.99 (discounted from €299.99) /s
I don’t mind working hard (farming drops) to get a new paint for my in game canyon bikes. It would be much visual cleaner in the garage to have just 1 bike model with the different paint options like we had already. To do all 5 upgrades again….not sure about that. Personal, i will keep one model full upgraded for racing, and others for socials, freerides and workouts. But yessss i’m going to buy them
Cheers !
You think Canyon pays less than $20 a month for bikes in Zwift? Then any subscriber would be able to afford a custom bike and color.
I said ALL of us, as in all the subscribers, not just one person ![]()
At least the red frame technology might be persistent this way instead of disrupting the space–time continuum.
With the frames costing 1.5M and 1.75M drops I thought 500k for just the skin would not be that bad. Also to keep them a bit exclusive.
It looks dark red almost burgundy.
Firetruck red is the holy grail of bike frames.
Nice recovery work there.![]()
The commentary around the robo partners right now is rough…
Yeah, this is what I do with them.
It’s a shame there isn’t an option to make Kristin Armstrong shut up!

Fortunately they don’t ride everywhere so you can avoid them and the advertising.
Kind of glad they don’t go on the mountain routes now.
It is pity that neither of the white frames has SRAM groupset but I will still go and get one of them.
I would still say that it would be better if Zwift made them “half halo” bike for maybe 3 or 4 M drops and allow to change the color. Plus make the performance slightly better than standard Aeroad 2024.
For what purpose should exactly the same bike have different performance levels?
Zwift supposedly put all that effort into wind tunnel research to get better performance data for all bikes, this would be throwing that away.
You could however take a bike like Ultimate CF EVO (2017) in both of its forms to be a kind of climbing halo bike which is much lighter and semi aero. The real one is that. That could serve the purpose.
