In 100+ group events I seem to always see messages from the ride leader but not from distant riders. If I’ve dropped well off the back, for instance, with 250 riders somewhere ahead, I’ll keep seeing messages from the leader interacting with other riders whose messages I don’t see.

Jordan stated in another thread “It’s a 500m radius. However, if they use Zwift Companion, they should see the messages in that chat window regardless of distance.”

There definitely are pockets of conversations at times, so I’d be curious what the actually bubble of conversation is. As a leader I can typically see all and I know all should see my comments, but wondering what the individual bubbles are. When I’ve leader other rides with a sweep I have been told …

i always thought it was distance based. i’m sure i read it somewhere years ago. something like anyone in a 2 minute radius. then again, that was years ago

Hey Chris, here is the thread that started up over 2 years ago when the chat was “broken” and reduced down to the closest 100 riders (I believe is the current radius for chat as well as seeing other avatars). @Eric said he was going to get it fixed, but I guess they decided that this is the way it will be.
