I updated the version to the latest. I am now no longer able to get into the app. It just hangs on this screen and does nothing else. I have uninstalled the app, including moving documents and downloads folders to the trash and then reinstalling. The only thing I can think of is that during the original update I was asked if I wanted to allow Zwift access to my documents folder. I thought this sounded dodgy so I said no. Since reinstalling I haven’t been asked for this permission again.
Hugely frustrating.
Zwift is v1.1.18 (164972).
Mac is Tahoe 26.7
Dodgy it may be, but it is required.
If you go into macOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Files & Folders, what do you see for the permissions? Is there anything you can enable there?
You could also go through the re-install process and probably get those prompts again: Reinstalling Zwift
Hi Paul, I appreciate you getting back to me. I allowed the documents folder in the ZwiftAppSilicon as you suggested and then uninstalled and re-installed the app from the downloads page. Now that it is re-installed that option remains checked. The Zwift app itself looks far too small though - 45MB when I remember it being a few GB before. Could that be an issue?
After clicking Let’s Go, I still get stuck on the same page. Thanks again
The little download is the launcher. After running the launcher, it downloads the rest of the game (or it should if it works). In my screenshot above, you can see “Zwift” which is the launcher, and “ZwiftAppSilicon” which is the game app for Macs with an Apple Silicon CPU. How do your settings compare to what you see in the screenshot?
The other thing that can get in the way on Macs is iCloud syncing the Documents folder. Sometimes it helps to disable that, run the game, do your ride, then afterwards re-enable iCloud sync when you are not using Zwift and let it catch up.
I have the same settings as you do.
I don’t have icloud enabled, so I don’t think it’s that.
OK, I’m not sure what the problem is. I just completely deleted and re-installed Zwift on an M4 MacBook Pro running macOS 26.7. Didn’t run into any issues.
You have any anti-virus software running? That could be another source of interference with the installation.
In Documents/Zwift/Logs you should see Launcher_log.txt and Curl_Log.txt. The latter is the log of everything that the launcher downloads from their CDN to install the game. You could send those to support@zwift.com and see if they can identify a problem.
Thank you very much for your help Paul. I have just gone through the process of reinstalling and then restarting my laptop and that seems to have kicked something into gear. Not sure what, but appreciate your support
All seems to be back working again now
