I personally would rather pay a one-time fee for membership. Anybody else interested?
I agree!
Â
“Lifetime” is (hopefully) a long time.Â
What would you suggest as a one-time fee?Â
I mean, I’m nearly 50. Let’s say I live until 80 and manage to keep riding. That’s still 30 years. US$5400 at $15 per month. For younger people it’s obviously even more.
So even if they considered this as an option, I expect it’d have to be a huge amount up front. If they said $500 for a lifetime subscription, all the smart long-term riders would stump up, losing Zwift a lot of revenue in the long term.Â
I can’t see it making any business sense.Â
However, I’d like to see a slightly discounted fee for paying for a year at a time. Say $165 (i.e. 12 months for the cost of 11 when paid up front).
Yeah, I don’t see them doing this either, but yearly discount definitely makes sense. Every year so far, I’ve debated suspending my subscription during the summer. A yearly fee with a modest discount would make this consideration far less likely.
I would recommend 3 options:
Monthly
Annual
Lifetime
Perhaps a “Senior Discount” would be in order. If you are older, perhaps the price wouldn’t increase in recognition of a possibly fixed income. Just sayin’…
