Define “work”
London has a load of bugs in it that have remained broken for years. maybe it has something to do with the way it uses real roads and non real roads in the same world?

Richmond and Yorkshire are by far the best route for racing on as they allow for so many different tactical approaches. Zwift should definitely keep them. Innsbruck is my favourite world - the climb is really versatile for training efforts.
If you don’t like them then don’t choose them, easy…
The problem for me is the pairing of worlds, New york and makuri islands are two of my least favourite and they’re always together so when it is them i always pick Watopia.
I’d like to see more randomising of worlds.
Also someway of going between the smaller worlds without having to save and restart to switch would be good, either join them up or allow you to port easily between them (wasn’t there talk of a zwift airport a while back?)
Well, yes and no. I don’t choose them but that also entails that when Yorkshire, Innsbruck and Richmond are in rotation, then I end up on Watopia. It so happens that it’s Innsbruck/Richmond today and tomorrow and then Yorkshire/Innsbruck the next two days. Yay!
But this is not about me just picking something else; it’s about Zwift focusing on worlds that they can expand and make better. There are multiple problems with the UCI worlds in that regard: They are real-life locations and that hinders creativity in expanding them, the locations weren’t chosen by the UCI because they were marvelous cycling destinations - they were chosen because those cities were able to host the races, the UCI locations can become a sprawl unless the older ones are retired.
I think your post would be better received in a “Improve Virtual Worlds by x.y.z” Feedback.
There is no credibility to the proposition that having or retaining any of the UCI worlds are somehow responsible for the lack of creativity and expansion of the worlds you might like to see expanded . Zwift are doing neither of late , although I beleive we are going to get an expansion to Matzumi islands virtual world next month that will probably be something you might like as it is defintely not attempting to map any reality but going for something very “fantastic” . That world will like offer nothing to those of us who want to see more worlds with different training improvements but we wont be campaigning to retire these worlds we will be enjoying there limited appeal to us and go back to the worlds we like , and of course ask for improvements to them .
Contrary also the central premise of this thread , there tis no one actually asking for existing world expansion in high number ( even the above mentioned expansion was probably not what most had anticipated and wanted (Mt Fuji) , where there IS in fact people asking with good reasoned reasons for the expansion/improvement to Innsbruck
In Summary lets not get into partisan camps advocating the shutting down of things just because we dont like them . Instead lets argue and campaign for more diversity and availability of worlds .
You are most welcome to start your own thread under the premise you feel most strongly about.
hahhaha like your comment even though you are missing the point, I do not ride the courses that i dislike but want better choice like most people
tactical approach ??? you go flat out stay flat out and finished flat out - never used tactics on zwift
Haha. Cos it’s all about what you want at the expense of what others want eh
I think the various replies to this subject is due to the different reasons people Zwift.
If a person Zwifting because they can’t go outside to ride and and they want to sight see and talk with others, then new large worlds are preferred.
If someone is racing, they will prefer a smaller course that they know very well so they can plan attacks or know when to expect attacks.
I have not raced in France and may not do so.
I’m not too interested in the Makuri Islands.
I prefer to race Richmond, Watopia Flat/Hilly/Volcano flat, and Innsbruck ring and the Gotham Grinder in New York.
The newest route I like is Sand and Sequoias and that’s just because the B pace partner rides it so much.
Racers tend to prefer laps on smaller loops.
If you’re not racing, those routes are boring.
Workouts are different still.
Usually, I just watch the power goal and pray for the timer to get to 0.
I don’t watch the scenery and the hills have no effect.
I have no problem with Zwift offering new worlds to those that want them but I don’t want the new changes to affect my functionality.
Lets hope our potatoes will continue to work.
It’s a fairly obvious solution reading this thread.
There is virtually no consensus.
Everybody uses Zwift in their own unique manner. Users enjoy different maps for different reasons.
Do not delete any worlds.
Make all worlds accessible, all the time.
No need for a rotation. Problem solved.
As many have mentioned, a map, for example Innsbruck. Is not a Zwift tourist destination. To be fair if you’re using Zwift for its stunning visuals and geographical cornucopia, you should probably try a thing called… real life. It’s quite vibrant.
Asking to have Innsbruck retired is a clear example of a user interacting with Zwift differently to many others. If that user was a racer, it’s highly unlikely they would suggest that. As the Innsbruck course, due to it’s decisive climbs proximity to the finish line, results in some of the best racing on the platform.
I feel what the actual issue is, is having these event worlds in a forced rotation. This I totally agree with the OP on.
It makes no sense any longer. Just load the start screen, let users choose any location.
Long term, some sort of portal that lets you ride on the entirety of maps in a fluid manner would be ideal. The Strava integration is a complexity for some users, as it’s from there that many log their training etc.
I am quite intrigued to hear which maps people enjoy. It seems they are preferred for very different reasons.
Here’s mine.
Training - Watopia (Climbs and variety)
Racing - Innsbruck / Downtown Dolphin (Crit City reverse)
Visuals - Makuri
That’s a big generalisation. There are of course different types of racing - crit racing is smaller loops. Road racing tends to take place on longer point to point routes. Both offer good racing.
Agree with the generalization comment but if we are talking about Zwift, then most races are 60 min or less.
I don’t know if there are longer road races on Zwift, I haven’t done any.
I’m told, the real life race most similar to Zwift is Cyclocross.
There a quite a few over the weekend 70km to 128km. Not many people have 3 hours in the week to race.
3 hour Zwift race!!!
OMG, I think I would die.
I guess it’s Not Richmond.
LOL
Some of them are on the Uber Pretzel that is closer to 5 hours.
Uber pretzel can do one… it can absolutely go forth and multiply… my backside side hurts 2 months later!!!
Having all the worlds accessible all the time would be fine on European winter evenings - when there are 30,000+ Zwifters online together - but would make Zwift a lonely place on New Zealand winter evenings, when there are far less people online.
One of Zwift’s USPs is riding with others, and I think they limit the world choice so it never feels like you’re riding alone - unless you make a real effort to ride alone.
I think the best answer could be strongly nudging people towards something like “today’s recommended worlds” and giving the option to choose other worlds, if you’re happy with it being quiet.
Maybe that’s why they are now trying out hidden scrollbar technology in the route selection screen?
