Lack of races

Why is there a lack of racing during the day in the southern hemisphere. Is it because Zwift is getting to expensive?

Most of the zwift community is based in the UK/Europe and the US. The majority of community-organised events are on during the popular times for these locations, typically a morning peak and an evening peak as most people work during the day and sleep at night.
At this time of the year, translated to Eastern Australian time zones, these peaks run from mid afternoon until the early hours of the morning, and again mid morning.
The number of people entering the races may be down due to the price change - I don’t have the figures to prove it one way or the other - but the number of race events is not.

Probably to do with time zones.

I see races in the early evening when I use Zwift. I haven’t looked during the day as I’m working.

I haven’t joined any because I’m stuck in A - the watt monsters there will destroy me unless the race is purely uphill. So no idea of the numbers.

Yeah, the time zones are the same for North vs Southern hemispheres so that’s a strange callout, and isn’t there another thread bemoaning that there are too many races?

Not sure why they’ve used southern hemisphere rather than their time zone, but the fact that both extremes can have valid complaints shows there is an issue with the distribution of the events throughout the day.
If I were to work from home and do a race in my lunch break, I’d be looking for something starting at about 2:30am UTC. Most days there is absolutely nothing. Yet at other times of the day, say 4:30pm UTC, there are multiple races starting at the same time and many more within half an hour.
During the southern summer my prefered morning time slot lines up well enough with the UK evening peak, but during southern winter it’s typically the zRacing series with maybe one other poorly attended option.
