KickR Snap and calibration/Spindown effects?

Maybe this is just me being daft here…

But can someone explain spindowns and tension with reference to Zwift.

Lets say for example i do a Wahoo based Spindown and get 14.9s within the limits of Wahoo calibration and ride, but then the next day i get a Spindown of 10.5s becuase i’ve moved the bike and tightened the adjuster differently this time. How does it differentiate ?

While I have no scientific evidence to back this up, the makes a world of difference.

Take all the necessary steps to lesson the variables so you get consistent power output from trainer. I invested in a trainer tire, pump the tire to 110 psi, 10 mins warmup, loosen the adjustment knob after each ride which means retighten to the correct tension in order for the spin down to be in the range of 13-14 seconds, no more no less. This takes 2 or 3 spin downs attempts.

The rigorous routine means consistent and comparable power measurement to the 4iiii power meter I used to have on the bike, and therefore better Zwift experience.

Had I known then what I know now, I would have bought a Tacx Neo and call it a day.
