Kicked out of a route…again

Software is a buggy mess, kicked me out of a route 1 1/2 hours in. Can the developers just roll back all the ‘features’ over the last few years and have a platform that doesn’t do this. Not justifying the price increase ime.

Possibly consider turning off your steering when you intend to complete a set route.

What bug has caused you to go off route?

No idea - it just went into free ride mode after finishing the grade section of the Zwift games queen stage route. The progress guide disappeared from the map - no other messages on screen. Very frustrating and needs fixing so this can’t happen.

The ZG25 Queen route doesn’t go up The Grade from the bottom (the arrow-straight bit).

Guessing you went left instead of right? Were you using a steering device?

Yes It joins half way…. The point is the route stopped itself which is a software bug to be fixed - or a hardware issue, which given the reliability of Zwift ride controls, need to be prevented in the software also.

At what exact point did the route stop? As Wannie just said, it looks like you did a manual turn left which took you off the route.

As Ian said above, you could consider turning off your manual steering.

Were you messing with the drone camera at all when going up the top part of the grade? This can cause you.to go off route if using the arrow keys on a keyboard when an intersection comes up. Not sure if you are using a PC however. You likely made a manual turn and didn’t realize it.

Thanks - using a swift ride system - didn’t press any buttons except gear changes .

Many Thanks

As soon as I passed through the KOM arch.

How do I disable the steering?

Just to clarify, toggling Intersection Controls setting turns off navigation via steering, but all other aspects of steering remain, just not turning at intersections. I recommend trying it whenever there is unexpected route change and steering is enabled. It will rule out the possibility that steering was the cause.

Thanks - where is that in the menu? I’m using Zwift ride and a MacBook

Paul already linked it to you above. See Zwift Update Version 1.58 (125542) Released | Zwift Insider

I suppose another option, a bit more involved, is to create a Club, create event for yourself and choose route. I don’t think it’s possible even with steering to deviate from an event-specified course.
