I’m new to Zwift and am running it on an M1 Ultra Mac Studio. Whenever I use the keyboard arrow keys to navigate the menus, they behave erratically. e.g. pushing Down continuous might initially move down through the menu, but then start moving left and right. Repeated presses result in differing behaviour, so it seems like it must be a bug.
I get the same behavior with the zwift ride controllers. Sometimes the arrows behave as expected, sometimes they navigate in the wrong direction.
Just unboxed my brand new Zwift ride. After my first workout session I noticed that the arrow buttons were “jumping around” the menu in event/workout selection screen.
For example I would press right → to select a race and the menu would jump down to a selection below it.
Tried doing a hard reset and nothing.
I think this is a known issue, has been reported multiple times before.
make sure to update firmware using the companion app too
Hi @Joe_Hood @Glenn_Van_Loon @Mitchell_Herzig
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. Thanks for flagging this up. We’re seeing some reports of this on macOS, tvOS and iOS too, and we’re working on it. Keep an eye on this thread as we get closer to a fix.
It also sounds like it’s acting oddly (it might take two clicks to move once, for ex), but not completely preventing you from navingating the game menus, would you say that’s what you’re experiencing?
Mine completely prevents me from navigating menus with the Ride controls, especially when trying to move between rows. Most commonly, if I click right, it moves down.
While the issue is happening it is also preventing me from navigating through the tiles (really hard to reach the desired tile when the buttons seem to act randomly). But it usually resovles itself after a while and then I’m able to navigate the tiles again. Note that it only happens while navigating the tiles, I have never experienced this issue in other areas of the user interface. I am using zwift ride controllers and runnig zwift on pc (so I have a keyboard with touchpad as fallback option).
After shutting Zwift down and coming back the next day the issue seems to have resolved itself. Issue seems intermittent.
However when it was happening it made the menu impossible to navigate. I had to use my Mac TouchPad to make selections.
The issue seems to be more common lately. And I’m now noticing that indeed it happens when trying to move to the right in the tiles. A single right click will make the selection disappear, a second right click will move to the correct position. It’s easy to lose track of where the selection is when pressing a different button than the right button after the selection disappeared after a single right click.
It seem like it’s a problem with the position of the mouse cursor overriding the keyboard command. If you put your cursor near the top of the screen, it’ll occasionally glitch upwards towards it, for example. Should be an easy fix for the dev team.
Hey all
This bug that we observed across several different OS platforms is fixed in game version 1.100, which has completed phased rollout to every platform.
Please verify that you’re on v 1.100 (here’s how) and let us know if this has solved it for you, and if not - if you’re on using tvOS, macOS, iOS, or something else.
Thanks for the swift reply!
I’m still seeing the bug on the latest version. I tried it with the wireless air mouse disconnected too, using just a keyboard, and it still does the same thing - it’s moving towards the mouse cursor rather than the arrow key direction. I can send you a video if you need it. Not sure how to do that on here though…
Hi Shuji,
I’m running the game on macOS (silicone / M2), game version 1.100.0, and this bug still exists. Like Joe_Hood said, this bug happens when your mouse cursor happens to be placed on top of a tile in the main menu. When that occurs, using a keyboard (or Zwift Click) results in extremely erratic behavior, and it prevents the user from navigating to certain rows in the menu.
Presumably, there should be some sort of logic that disables the cursor from highlighting tiles when the most recent action was performed with the keyboard instead of the cursor.
Hey there,
Seems like there’s something shady going with the Mac version and the Zwift play controllers. Three weeks ago, give or take, (or before last update) the menus seemed to have an hidden “selection” in which I would have to right-click twice on my play controllers to move focus from one card to the next. New version came, and this was fixed.
Now today it seems like it’s jumping around between things, so if I try to reach the workout of the week/climb of the week card, and it goes up and back three cards. It’s weird. This wasn’t really happening last week on my last ride (Friday), so I’m not sure if something changed.
Anyone else seeying the same behavior?
Cheers!
move the mouse
I’ll check where the mouse is tomorrow. If that’s it, then I’m not very smart. It happens.
In some instances the mouse pointer can interfere with menu navigation, not your fault, it’s a silly bug
I confirm that my reported issue was, indeed, an issue with the interface between the play controllers and the bicycle. ![]()
Cheers!
