The camera shake on the wood bridges needs to be toned down.
Wasn’t there supposed to be a setting to turn off camera shake coming zoon?
Don’t quote me on this, but
A great little loop for only 5km. Connect it to the Jungle/Alpe! But still good. I like Loopin Lava and Triple Twists, very satisfying.
One little bug I noticed: the blue riders (oh the memories) have little lights going around in circles on the wheels. But they are going the wrong direction, at least the ones on the right side of the road. For the ones off to the right side, the light moves clockwise, which implies backwards movement. It bugs just a little
The connector to the Jungle is a must-have and it should be moved to the top of Zwift HQ development schedule. Creating roughly the layout I have shown in the attached image(s) would give a near-flat way to get to the Mayan Pyramid and then on to the South Coast area. Also, the Dev folks could have fun with an underground maze-like set of roads under the Great Pyramid as a little flash (Indiana Jones style) …
You guys are joking around with Deca Dash, right?
Got the badge last night, shoots to the top of the list of the worst routes in this game. Incredibly repetitive, terrible for group rides, this is going to become no man’s land as soon as this event is over.
It’s frustrating because we rarely get new content and this development time was wasted on something that’s going to be unused.
It’s a historically important route for sure.
Which will be empty after the tour of Watopia!
Jarvis was before my time but was Deca Dash a route on it?
I assumed it was more a 10th anniversary reference.
There were no routes back then, but since laps in one direction was all you could do Deca Dash represents a typical Zwift ride back then.
I take it you haven’t done the 25 laps of the volcano then…
Or the 11 Laps of London on the PRL Full…
But we all still ride around volcano and London.
This might be fair comment if Deca Dash was the only route using the new tarmac.
It isn’t.
The “new” routes aren’t really that new. Just a lot of existing routes supplemented by a small section of something new. Waisted 8 for instance, Coast to Coast also.
Just had this thought when looking at the the map and when riding today. It looks like there’s a pier coming of of the new island which I think would be cool for a connection to a more western part of Watopia:
the whole camera angle panning out whilst the screen was shaking when entering was really off putting and took me out of my ride not being able to see my avatar for that brief moment
I think I WILL quote you! TIL there is another bluegrass NC, as in NorCal.
The new route (Jarvis) is so boring. I didn’t even realized that I was on a new route. Where have the creative ideas gone? This is not going to get the community cheering!!! Zwift needs fresh thinking and enthusiastic staff.
This release is not about new roads…
It’s about bringing back and paying homage to the original route that started it all way back in 2014.
It could’ve been both. As it is, Jarvis is a waste. It adds nothing but an isolated loop that they can tack on to a few existing routes for “new routes.” Had it been a connector to the jungle and west side of the Alpe it would’ve been fantastic. As it is it’s very underwhelming.
You may or may not like the new routes. I’ve been zwifting since 2015 and the Zwift-Beta days. The route bores me. It could have been done much better. For me, the result is very disappointing compared to the years of innovation 9 years ago.
I totally have forgotten the blue riders.
Find it wonderful that we have jervis island again.
As for those folks which want more roads, well there are plenty of diversions to ride and find a way out and back of jervis.
Done one this morning, just created my own route.
The visual effects of the towering rocks plunging into the sea were too powerful for my windows pc to handle and it crashed with blue wall of death within 20 seconds of entering the loop. Let’s try again, ugh.
