I lead a team ride and using messages is a requirement to manage the session and engage audience.
Although everything works as intended, no communication is possible among the participants. Both group and individual messaging do not work.
Running on AppleTV with latest game and companion versions.
Seeking for advice or a definitive solution to the issue.
Email support@zwift.com and ask if you’ve been shadow banned. If so, you should have received an email about it, so check spam folders for that, but email’s not perfectly reliable so you may need to ask for an explanation, and if the answer is yes, ask how long you are in the pokey.
HI @Joe_Marana
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. I looked at your account and you are not shadowbanned. I don’t see anything out of the ordinary in your server logs that would cause this symptom.
With AppleTV and other mobile platforms, it’s easy to forget that you need to power cycle them periodically. When’s the last time you rebooted the Apple TV? While you’re at it - power cycle your cable modem and WiFi router to reset your local network.
Sometimes that will clear up a weird issue, sometimes not. Will you let us know either way?
Hi @shooj, tks for the prompt reply. I just followed your recommendation and power cycled (restarted) my unit. Status did not change. I can send messages but nobody sees them, including me (nothing pops on screen). All other game features are fine.
Any chance you’ve inadvertently turned off the in-game chat in the Settings menu?
I was not aware this is an option. I will check next time I log on!
Thanks @Nigel_Tufnel
