Am I correct in thinking that there really is no way to find out how many people actually participated and rode in a Zwift event?
For example, looking at Zwift’s events page for TdW, Cat B which ran a couple+ hours ago (ID# 4666449), it shows 935 signed up.
OTOH, Zwiftpower shows only 392, but of course not everyone is enrolled in ZP. So, we just settle on the fact that somewhere in-between these 2 numbers, that’s how many rode?
I’m sure ZHQ has a way of knowing.
If race results are enabled which they are for this you can look at the activity for anybody that took part. This will give you access to the entrants list. It should show you how many took part with a division between those that finished and DNF.
That said I’m not sure that’s an exact science either.
Then maybe I’m doing it all wrong in Companion or on the website, I participated in the event, and the only place I can see any results is in Zwiftpower, which seems to be missing almost 2/3rds of the field? Companion App has a zwifted-with thing, but that only shows a couple dozen or so names.
I noticed that sometimes the position doesn’t show for these events (some people get positions, and some didn’t in the same exact event). So if you did see the positions during the ride you would see the folks who completed it in the companion app, if you didn’t then you’d just the total number who started.
Good thought… So there was position during the event, and my screenshots from the event do show position (there were evidently about 850 positions at one point). But nothing other than about 40 “Zwifted With” list in the CA or zwiftcom activity/event page
I’ve just checked John. My mistake they’ve not enabled race results as i had originally stated.
If they did you get this on ZCA which gives the detail you’re after.
Not all may be on Zwiftpower (unless a requirement at signup). Also I have seen drops right before the finish line and possible that if no HRM, disqualified. May be other reasons, I am not a big racer so do not know all the permutations.
Apparently it’s a far shot from having all on ZP, in fact further than I maybe believed. 395 in ZP, and screenshot for placements during the ride showed 854 at one point. It just seems absolutely crazy that there’s no post-event way to know who rode. It seems so fundamentally easy to provide, given that this is all done virtually.
Was 854 from screenshots before 30 minutes? I see 878 & 879 on many screenshots after 30 minutes.
yeah that was about the 20 minute mark. Actually earlier than that was only 804.
Yes so you need to check screenshots as late as possible to see max number. However I’m not 100% sure that is always the number that leave the pen ?
