HDMI and network instability

I am experiencing something new. Recently, if I connect my MacBook to the TV via HDMI, I often get network connection instability, to the point that if, for instance, I’m doing a Robopacer ride, I am left on my own as Zwift can’t connect to the network. And obviously, the Companion app can’t connect to what’s happening on Zwift.

If I use Airplay, it’s all good.

Pretty consistent behaviour.

Anyone else has had this problem?

Zwift 1.101.0
MacBook Pro M4, MacOS Tahoe 26.1

It sounds like your HDMI cable might have insufficient shielding to prevent electromagnetic interference. The WiFi antenna is located near the hinge, and the HDMI port is there as well, so greater physical separation might also help, such as by using a USB-C to HDMI adapter and connecting it on the other side of the laptop. But I’d probably start by getting a top quality HDMI cable and see if it improves. If you have administrative access to the WiFi router you could also change the channels used for your network and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks Paul, I suspected some sort of interference. I’ll use your suggestions and see if they help!
