“Universal” is a big word, so I’d agree with you regarding sentiment against the Robo pacer avatar. That said, what you say above is, to me, the thing that’s kind of creepy.

I can see what you mean, but I’m trying to be objective and pointing out what is clearly observable all the time in a Zwift ride. If that’s deemed creepy… oh well.
When riding in any group in Zwift in the default camera mode, the thing one sees most of on the screen are the backs of the riders in front of us and their saddles. From my point of view, the movement of the upper leg and pelvis area in Zwift is completely “off”, based on what seems to be an over-simplified animation wireframe that removes the seat bone contact points from the equation and just sees simple rotational hinges at the hip joints while the pelvis floats over the saddle. It’s just odd, to my eyes. But it wouldn’t for a second put me off using Zwift.
The new RoboPacers dispense with the pretense and just use the same wireframe without the erroneous fleshing out.
But putting it all into perspective, it’s all just graphical window dressing, and we’re all just sitting there sweating indoors, turning cranks (most of the user base anyway) and outputting data to animate the window dressing. It could be worse. It could be better.
“Universal” may not be as long as Hippo(non-terminating), but it’s bigger. Lol

Agree! And, I appreciate Zwift, warts and all. It beats cranking out on a stationary trainer with no interface or interactivity whatsoever! By a long, long shot!

I personally prefer the new ones, and I’m fairly certain I’m in the same universe as others on this chat, notwithstanding occasional barbed comments from friends, family, and business associates.

Hi All
I’m having trouble with pace partner rides. Whenever I try to join one, the group isn’t located and I’m simply transported in to the map on my own.
It’s been an issue since the latest updates. I have the most up to date versions. I’m running on an Apple TV, with companion on my iPhone and never had problems before
Is anyone experiencing the same issue, and are there any workarounds or things I should be thinking about?

I do like the new look far better than the old (ghost like) look. However they should recieve new names as they are not male or female anymore.
Only whished I could have riden more with them in the last weeks as it has been nearly impossible to do a bug free ride with them since 1.39
thanks. tried to join Jacques on Makuri: No chance. Jacques on Volcano flats - went ok. Yumi on Mukuri worked as well…strange
If I join a group ride with Maria in Makuri Islands I’m always starting somewhere on my own? Maria isn’t located or close-by? This problem occurred after the last update. Anyone with the same problem or solution?

This is happening consistently for me. I’ve had the issue on my i phone, apple TV and laptop. I immediately stop, trash the ride and keep trying and continue to get dropped in far away from the group. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the apps to no avail. Looking forward to the next update to see if it gets sorted out.
June 7th 2023, have tried 4 times and 4 fails. Spawning in middle of nowhere, can’t find pacers
Annoyed. Used to work now broken
Blue pacer was blinking in and out of existence rapidly, not moving. Tried him twice. 2 fails.
Switched to yellow pacer, appeared in correct world but group and pacer nowhere to be seen
Tried twice and finally gave up. This keeps happening. Please fix this zwift

It’s not. Today June 7th and no matter what pacer or world I can’t spawn with pacer
Also, blue pacer in wattopia just blinking in and out rapidly not moving

what device are you using for Zwift and what version?

and
Apple TV 4K, 64gb , ‘model A1842’
Can’t find any option to further update zwift, and apple TV has auto update enabled. Good internet reception and problems only started about 10 days ago.

I notice I’m not the only one who has this problem. Indeed, occurred after the last update. In Watopia all seems to be working fine. Guess/hope they will solve the problem soon.
I think you mean Zwift version 1.41.0 instead of 1.42 or has ATV recieved an extra update.
