We don’t get race ranking points either for any of the three events?
Hello! Where can i write issue with my Haute Route 2021 stage 3? ZwiftPower don’t show my result. I see the activity in zwift companion and strava, but not in zwift power. I ride all 3 stages 2 of them are in zwiftpower but not 3rd.
Zwiftpower lost connection to Zwift data for you at 46.8km’s - its usually a network glitch in your connection but perhaps email zwiftpower@zwift.com and maybe they can reset your activity to see if that fixes it given your Zwift activity looks clean.
I have completed all 3 stages but only see stage 1 in the GC. Can you please check and let me know what has gone wrong? profile=25377. Thanks in advance…
Yes why is it taking ZP so long to upload the GC results ?
I didn’t get the new kit either not sure why,oh well. It’s only a game …
Well, I don’t understand the GC either. I have my 3 rides in A recorder on ZP so is one of my friend. Nonetheless, he has a cumulated time shorter than mine (~4 minutes) and I have a better ranking. I have the feeling that only my best time for the 1st stage matters. I have a better rank than some people who have more points and vice-versa. I have no clue how the points system works.
You’re right it is a game and I hope we all had a great experience
It would be nice to have a better GC though I guess we all need our bragging rights
I am more concerned being overtaken up Alpe du Zwift yesterday by someone sprinting weighing less than my left leg!
My GC page is also not updating, currently reads last updated 3 days ago. Are you still experiencing this problem? Is this an issue only for some if us or is there a more general delay here? Would love to look through general results if they are available:)
Yes, no kit showing either…even though it was showing after the 3rd stage on Sunday in the garage… not anymore
Has anyone else not received the Le Col discount code? I see the jersey is sold out in larger sizes but I’m halfway tempted to see if I can squeeze into a medium … Not sure if I’m supposed to get an email after completing a stage?
Zwift power has me marked as 2.8W/kg.
I competed in cat C all three days, and as others predicted, spent the majority of the time as a straggler, either riding alone or occasionally as a pair. My goal was simply to complete, not to compete.
That was 7-8 hours with the psychological demotivation of being left behind, with no company, of being thoroughly beaten, knowing I am a loser, and of thinking/knowing I am not as good as the majority of other people.
If event organisers truly welcome other riders who want to challenge only themselves, please do not allow these scenarios to develop. Otherwise, I may as well ride the Pretzel and Quatch Quest in my own time and gain positive thoughts from achievement instead of the negative thoughts of being a loser.
A couple of solutions that spring to mind are
1/ Do not allow riders to manually select A B C or D. Instead, allow the system to autoselect their split based on their abilities. It appears to me that this is close to possible today.
2/ Alternatively (with more work), allow the system to autoselect A B C D based on riders’ previous finishing positions (including DNFs and DNSs).
The chess world uses a system known as the Elo Rating System, and allows for matchmaking of players whom have not previously met. It is well documented on e.g. Wikipedia.
Elo is designed for two competitors, not a pack of riders. The online racing service, iRacing, sanctioned by multiple motorsports bodies, has a modified Elo system that works beautifully for grids of any size and auto-assigns racers to splits A B C D etc.
I recognize other ideas have likely been proposed over the years on this forum. Maybe some of those are better than mine. Likely some are unworkable. Maybe some sound ones have not been implemented for good reasons.
Today’s approach is not ideal. Which would be the best way(s) to improve it?
I was THRILLED to complete all 3 stages of Haute Route 2021. I didn’t plan on doing it, but one thing led to another and before I knew it, I ad finished 3 days of some of the hardest riding I’ve done on Zwift. I felt exceptionally proud to finally take on Alpe du Zwift, and on top of that was really pleased with my times for each stage…
- HOWEVER -
Like so many of you, my results have not shown up in ZwiftPower! On the GC there is only one result listed for me, and on my profile and in the events I am only listed in the first 2 Stages. And I ALSO do not see the kit in my garage yet. My completion of Stage 3 is listed on Zwift Activities, I received the “Series Complete” email, and I have screenshots of the finish and the ride report. Even the .FIT file shows I finished. I’ve contacted Zwift Support 3 times, and all they’ve said is that they’ll look into it to possibly give me a credit for completion.
WTF.
Clive - I also competed in cat C all 3 days and was suffering in the red zone for just under 7 hours total. Definitely the hardest effort I’ve done on Zwift. I’m extremely proud of making it to the top of the Radio Tower without crumbling on Day 2 and finishing AdZ on Day 3. Pretty brutal for us mortal folks that don’t have 10 + hours a week to prep for something like this. Unfortunately no-one gets to see the joy on our faces alone in our garage as we cross the finish line of such a big accomplishment.
There is no reason to feel demoralized - I had similar feelings after being passed by over 150+ riders on day 1 before getting to the finish line. After thinking about it a bit - I’d imagine nearly everyone feels this way! I rode alone on the limit at 2.4-2.8 w/kg for at least half the time with other riders seemingly blowing past me the whole time like I was sitting still. Usually they come past at 3.5 - 4.5 w/kg which makes you feel even worse when you can barely hold 3.0 for more than a couple minutes after 2 hours. How did I get so far ahead of someone who can hold 4.0+ ? I started watching on the long climbs and often that rider at 4.0 halfway up something like AdZ is blowing past everyone in FRONT of me too! We’re all in this boat when mentally exhausted and giving it our best!
I think the technology we have currently is amazing, but it’s got a very long way to go & lots of room for improvement. In the real world, if I’m at my limit at 2.8 w/kg on a big climb going 6 mph / 10 kph and I come up behind someone at 2.7 w/kg going 5 mph / 8 kph, I don’t have to lay down 3.2 to get around them or be stuck at a slower speed like in Zwift! Also when descending at 50 mph / 90 kph while drafting another rider, they don’t just ride away from me if I coast - like in Zwift.
A major thing missing from these big virtual rides, fondos, races of significant length is exactly what you’ve mentioned, interaction with others around you which is NOT currently optimized other than text or VTT. You feel alone … and as if every rider around you is a blood-thirsty villain out to smash you into oblivion. That is of course, not the case as we were ALL hurting 25 minutes into the Alp after 3 days of a huge (to some of us) effort. I’m imagining something in the future like a headset similar to what you’d wear on a video game where you can talk to people within say 5 meters of you. You could at least discuss some friendly alliances and / or how you’re feeling so you can actually work together during the ride vs. a mind-numbing max effort for many hours alone, which really only results in some empirical GC list days later. (or in this case a week later and counting - still looking for how we did overall). Zwift has a great start, but this whole concept can get better!
The fact you finished is a huge accomplishment and you have my admiration, as do all of our fellow finishers!
Hi Duke. Thanks for taking the time to read my words, digest them, and reply.
An option for audio chat with riders within shouting distance would be great !
Me too movement-
I did not get credit for stage 2 and have e-mailed support, so perhaps, but I imagine they are buried
As I finished stage 2 the last minute I noticed several riders just ahead vanished from my screen?
I finished within the next 30 seconds and kept riding down the hill for another 10 minutes.
I think I was just bumped out of the stage. I see all 3 stages uploaded to strava.
Maybe next time things will go better. It’s the workout you did that counts!
Rob
