Good bye Strava

Due to recent developments, no longer using Strava.
I suspect I wont be alone long when their new API policies kick in.

But, how about syncing directly with Final Surge? This is a great coaching platform Ive been using for years, but with Strava’s latest decision, will not be able to get any Zwift data.

Is strava not going to allow us to upload our zwift rides anymore?

Yes, uploading rides to Strava from Zwift will still be fine.

You can upload to Strava, but Strava will no longer in turn share out your data to other 3rd party apps (such as the mentioned Final Surge).

FWIW though, I don’t think I ever got the email that evidently went out from Strava on this new policy, so I do wonder if they’ve changed their minds.

I think maybe that email went to the companies who are getting the data from Strava, not to users?

I got an email about it on November 18th. Maybe check your spam folder?

I haven’t heard anymore about it so I suspect they are still pushing ahead with it. I sort of understand it, they have become almost the central place to store your workouts, but aren’t really being paid for it.

I checked… I have a Nov 19th email from Strava though “Experience the Updated Strava Community Hub!” lol. They are actively deleting discussion of this new policy on this Hub.

Is it possible this is country/regional specific? ie. some weird interpretation Strava has of new AI or Privacy regs that aren’t in place worldwide.
