the streak pausing feature is one thing i really don’t understand, i defeats the point

what next give the 100 mile jersey if you do 100 miles over multiple rides?

let’s not give them any ideas

I use Duolingo for language lessons, and they have streak freezes you can earn or buy. I still see the streak as valuable/motivating, but that’s in part because Duo doesn’t count the frozen days for the streak count. In other words, if you’re at 1401 days and you use a streak freeze the next day, your streak stays ‘unbroken’ but stays at 1401. So there’s still a loss of value, but the motivation to keep the streak alive stays for the following day. I don’t think it’s so bad.

Not sure if Zwift will count the week you used a pause in their accumulated weeks, though.

What they could legit do is offer cool jerseys for Eddington numbers.

A jersey for 10 rides of 10km, a jersey for 20 rides of 20km, 30 rides of 30km, 40 rides of 40km, etc. 100 centuries would be a cool jersey to flaunt.

I mentioned it before, but the purpose is for user retention. Most folks won’t try and keep an ongoing streak throughout the year due to an inevitable week away due to vacations, sickness, life, etc., a larger portion of people can subscribe to a streak if they can mitigate a streak break for one of those occasions, meaning the streak becomes more manageable for a larger portion of people, and then more meaningful for those people. The goal is to reduce the number of folks who cancel their membership in the summer, and that is the business justification for it.

This makes me realize that I haven’t taken a vacation for several years, maybe 5-7.

I get so excited about getting off the trainer and riding outside that it feels like a vacation.

I wonder if that explains a few things?

Don’t know.
I’ll think about it on the group ride tonight.

@shooj this sprint point is in the wrong place. It should be on top of the highest point. So is the second one on croissant on a second lap

Hats off to the designers and artists for the new cobbled roads in France. Very pretty and atmospheric, and a great addition to the map.

Now we can have a bagel in New York and a croissant in France.
There’s a pizza place on the early slopes of the Stelvio. Hint, hint.

sounds like we need a Haggis route in Scotland, maybe a Oyster route in Richmond… what about Innsbruck, Yorkshire and London?

100% would ride The Pudding.

Not the Tea ?

But runs don’t count for anything… Once again runners are ignored.

Haven’t had it, actually. My preferred tea routes would be in Makuri, I guess. Or maybe London–Earl Grey was the PM, right?

I agree. They should put a few carrots behind a paywall for us runners, that people who pay for Zwift can get more out of it, and that would be them helping us and us helping them.

Free run subscription could not support streak but paid ones would.

Pony up some coin, make it happen

Yeah, the segment blobs are all over the place on other new routes as well (Sacre Bleu at least).
