Game Update v1.76 [October 2024]

If the apps are closed, is pairing still held? I will discuss this with my kid. Thank you!

For some unknown reason the app opened. Connected my devices, only had to cycle the connection square like three or four times.
Weā€™ll see tomorrow. My physical therapist wants me to ride pretty much every day. Maybe I can do a double one day to get the next one offšŸ§?

My friends! Thanks for all your help.

Hey @Kevin_Barker - Are you able to select the video screenshot option and then it saves a 0 byte file, or are you not able to use the functionality in the action bar at all?

Hey @Mr.Ferdinand - Can you share some more details on the error youā€™re seeing? The upload seemed to not have come through correctly.

Hereā€™s the error I am getting after closing zwift.

Search the forum for ā€œZ117ā€ and youā€™ll find a lot of that going back years

hi @John_Zwift yes i can select video screenshots from my in-game settings & then saves a 0 byte size file to my Zwift videos folder on PC.
I also see an on-screen messsge saying ā€œvideo screenshots is currently unavailableā€ after clicking the video feature from drop down action bar menu.

Iā€™ve sent you a DM.

I also have this 0 byte issue, I can try and make a video from the menu next time to see if its just the auto video or a general one.

When I checked my file on zwiftalizer it said video screenshots disabled but in the app its set to enabled.

hi John,

Please update us regarding any progress made with this trouble?

fyi: the help desk has contacted me several times, each time a different ā€œMember Experience Agentā€ has made contact asking for repeated PC device information which I have given. I believe the trouble is with the Zwift serversā€¦ please advise

Hey @Kevin_Barker , one of our team members was able to reproduce this issue when windows security settings had ā€œVideos Library Accessā€ turned off. Could you take a look on your computer and let me know whether that setting is on or off?

  • In Windows 10, go to Start > Settings > Privacy.
  • In Windows 11, go to Start > Settings > Privacy & security.

I tried to manually take a video also 0 bytes, I toggled the setting Iā€™ll see if this works and check thse privacy settings.

I have 24H2, the setting for screenshots and screen recording is set to on. There was no request for this recorded by windows.

hi John, thanks for the advice.

I checked the setting for ā€œVideos Library Accessā€ as ON

I also checked for an update on the (graphic) Display Driver (as recommended by Zwift Support).
The latest driver is being used dated 14/08/2024 & cannot be updated.

I updated to game vs.1.77 & retested video screenshots.

I still cannot record video screenshots.

Any further help to resolve this would be appreciated

Thanks, Kevin

Hi John,
Iā€™ve been following this thread recently.
Iā€™ve also been unable to record video screenshots since recent Zwift client updates.
I believe since 1.77 (possibly 1.76), and have 1.78 currently installed.
Iā€™ve gone through and validated the recommendations my teammate Kevin has been advised (chipset/graphics driver updates, video library access), and the issue still persists.
Iā€™ve had no issues recording video screenshots prior to the last couple of months.
Looking forward to hearing more about your teamā€™s findings on this issue as well as a resolution, hopefully in the next build.

Is there a known issue for Kickr core connecting but not displaying any stats? I tried my trainer on TrainingPeaks Virtual (IndieVelo) and everything works perfectly. This is extremely disappointingā€¦ Iā€™ve had Zwift for 6 out of its 10 years and have consistently had issues with big updatesā€¦ Is there a way the basic functionality does not get impacted by these updates. Knowing that your customers are cyclist then you are well aware consistent training is key and a means to train needs to be available whether you want to make a new island come out of the ground to ride or not

I have the same issueā€¦any updates from anyone?

Just to add, one of my recent Zwiftalizer log parses also show screenshots are ā€œdisabled,ā€ which does not match the setting which is ā€œenabledā€ in app.

Within my most recent \Documents\Zwift\Logs\Log.txt file, I noticed the following entry:
[21:41:17] [VIDEO_CAPTURE] Video Capture Feature Flag: DISABLED

Iā€™ve not been able to find any text or xml configuration files with this particular tag in the Zwift directories. Iā€™m presuming itā€™s code-generated based on criteria.

I *suspect Zwift is not recognizing my dGPU and downgrading quality and resolution settings, and/or using the iGPU. Again, while my dGPU has recorded video screenshots in the past, Iā€™m not sure if my iGPU is able to accomplish the same. I havenā€™t monitored or tested this myself yet, but did notice birds in flight in Watopia have also been ā€œchoppyā€ on recent rides.

My Win11 Graphics settings for both Zwift and ZwiftLauncher are and have always been set to specifically use my dGPU.

Let us know if youā€™ve any updates, if the dev team is able to shed any light on the video capture tag mentioned above, and whether GPUs are being identified appropriately by code.
