Or half screen for each like other apps do.
The only time I care about it is races, where that isn’t shown. I suppose, if I were just free-riding around and wanted to grab a jersey, it might be useful, but my non-race free-rides are mainly z2, so I’m with you on that.
I don’t want the bar at the top left, and I like the power trace at the bottom. The climb pro graph could fit in the mini map area in the top left.
Or all this could be customizable so we could set up our displays the way we all like.
Sauce users should be disclosing that they are trying to configure the general HUD in a way that allows them to use Sauce with it to their preference. It would be sub optimal for Zwift to implement that feedback for most users who aren’t running 3rd party software on the side.
I love the new HUD too! It makes the screen more polished and HUD less distracting with the darker colors.
Looking forward to the rest of the HUD upgrade
I don’t use Sauce I just want a well-designed and implemented HUD that people can configure how they want. The new HUD is none of these things
The new HUD is missing avg heart rate, isn’t it? Somebody fix that pls.
Was hoping the new HUD would fix the QUIT EVENT button dropping off the bottom of the screen on iPad. Seems like that is still part of the old UI though so it’s still broken.
Plus, I know my eyesight’s slowly deteriorating (so this may not bother other people) but the small numbers in the HUD are near impossible to read at a glance on the iPad for me.
I also find it odd that the climb graph pops up during the Rolling Highlands races. After crossing the finish line as you head towards the tower the climb graph appears for the climb up the tower but then disappears as you turn left rather than go up the tower. I would’ve thought the climb graph would be smart enough to know what route you are on (particularly in a race when there is no option to change course) and so it wouldn’t show the graph.
I wouldn’t mind if the climb graph was able to be permanently shown under the minimap. Sometimes in a race it’s just as important to know where the descents are as it is the climbs. Perhaps when the minimap gets refreshed an option to show the full course profile or the profile of the next 800m (and thus hide the climb graph popping up in the middle of the screen).
Have been riding today. A race and a free ride and I kinda like the new screens. Sure it would be nice if we can turn off everything from the hud we dont need, bus its a step in the right direction.
It does make the segment screen, the map and the playerpanel look old now though. They really dont fit anymore in this new refreshed look, so please give them an update also.
One small thing - this translucent gray should be applied to the segments and the rider list. It looks out of place with the contrast now.
Also, it is hard to tell from the screenshot but I took a photo, some of the icons in the menu on the Windows app are kind of translucent looking.
I’m going to add something new: Zwift estimates the number of kilocalories (kcal or Cal) we expend during each ride. It’s part of the summary for each of our activities.
Now, in the upper left hand corner in the new HUD we see ‘kilojoule’ (kJ) as a metric. A kJ is NOT the same as a kcal: 1kcal = approximately 4 kJ. It’s evident to me that kJ should be replaced by kcal.
Due to the poor efficiency of humans converting chemical energy into mechanical work a human will use approximately 1kcal to generate 1 kJ while cycling
The new HUD settings give you that option if you prefer
Interesting! I just looked this up. Thank you; I learned something new today.
Yeah? Thank you, I’ll look into it.
Why?
If that is the feedback they are getting it only shows that enough people use sauce it’s worth considering
dunno if that is total or current
Or if they paid once and kept using it…
I always assumed that when the new HUD was released it would fix the inconsistent spacing on the elapsed time. But no! Such a simple fix: set a fixed width. The digits constantly move back and forth depending on number width. Am I the only one who finds it distracting?! Happens on the rest of the data too but wiggle on the time is constant.
