Quite an update! Zwift Insider post all about it: Zwift Update Version 1.86 (142579) Released | Zwift Insider

@shuji From what I’ve read, bike performance changes happen server-side, so it’s at the same time for all Zwifters. When did or will these frame and wheel performance changes be implemented, as seen on Learn About Upcoming Frame and Wheelset Performance Changes on Zwift | Zwift Insider

@Dave_Konicek

You are correct - the performance tweaks are enabled server-side and is dependent on game version 1.86+. The tweaks mentioned in this Zwift Insider article will take effect when you receive 1.86 this week.

OK, so it is possible for some riders to have the new performances, while others who don’t have the update available yet use the old performances. Thanks for the response.

Zwift drop shop prices seem to be still at the old price if you are still on 1.85. Now’s the time to buy wheels before you get upgraded to 1.86 with the higher prices.

Oddly, after getting this update, when I got to the garage, my current wheelset (as in the wheelset that is actively on my bike), is 3rd on the list and the previous one is 4th. 1 and 2 are not newly purchase or recently used wheelsets. Nor are they alphabetically 1st or last. Not sure what they’re doing up there.

Hello , i have a question , i used a PC with windows , but i’m still with version 1.85.2 , the automatic update is check , so i don’t usually do update zwift manually , is it normal than i still don’t have 1.86 ? ( i reboot pc , right click on zwift launcher for update , but i had message that said than zwift is up to date) .

Yes it’s normal. The release happens in phases with users randomly selected for upgrade until the release is complete.

Thanks for your feedback Paul

@shooj , on the subject of bike upgrades, what happens on rides where the bike type is enforced?
What also happens on those rides if the user does not own that bike?

An easy example right now would be Big Spin rides, if you’re on a Tri frame, you will be put on the classic. What gets the distance racked up, the frame you were on, or the frame the game put you on?

For rides where you may not own the bike from the dropshop, are all upgrade distances racked up… thrown away?

Phased rollout began yesterday for PC, but I still cannot access update. I right click icon and select check for update now, nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Are you using a smart trainer? If so, I don’t think this would make any difference. Sure, you would see the average, but you wouldn’t actually be able to control what that average is.

If you’re on a dumb trainer, though, this might be helpful.

These are great questions that require an answer from Zwift.

Phased rollout to IOS and tvOS devices is under way.
