While I like the way the top “tabs” are now highlighted when navigating the home screen, an annoying new feature has popped up. I was trying to tab over to my garage from “Home” using my Zwift Play controllers. It worked fine until I hit “Routes” and then it stopped moving right. Instead, some random route was selected below and I couldn’t keep paging over to my garage until I got back up to the tabs at the top. This didn’t happen prior to 1.86 and makes navigating the top menus a pain.
Thanks for the detailed update on 1.86. Looking forward to trying out those new bike upgrades and checking out the new frames in the Drop Shop.
I noticed this as well, and concluded it is caused by wherever your mouse happens to be while navigating the top menu buttons. As soon as you hit the route page it drops down to whatever route your mouse happens to be hovering over. Moving your mouse all the way to the top of the screen prevents this from happening. The same behavior happens when going back to the left on the events page.
I had the same issue last night Kevin after Zwift Games. I used to be able to use the Play to log out of the app. I couldn’t figure out how to get out of the “Routes” and had to use my keyboard to end the app.
Maybe that’s the trick. They don’t want us to ever leave. ![]()
Great question.
If an event forces you to use a different frame (including if it’s a frame you don’t own), bike leveling progress is applied to your previously-equipped frame, not the one that the event forces you to use. So that means you’ll continue to make progress on your current frame in these situations.
I downloaded the update on one of my non-zwift computers and bought the SL8, when i opened up the game on my Zwift computer it didn’t update the game and my SL8 wasn’t there, is this normal? Shouldn’t the update be account wide instead of computer wide?
That’s normal if not all your systems have the update.
The phased roll out for game updates is by randomized by device not by Zwift account so if you have multiple devices you could have updates become available on Tuesday for one device, on Wednesday for another, and all devices by end of day Thursday when all platforms reach 100% roll out.
Thanks for these reports - we are looking into improving this for an upcoming game release.
not mentioned; everyone’s tail lights removed but your own?
braking with controllers still lights up fortunately.
edit: turns out they turn on when it’s night time only:
Thanks for the response on upgrade path Evan
I wish that the tail light would indicate our ride group/category in mixed rides/races.
I am running Zwift on Windows 11. Game update 1.86 deployed and I have the halo bikes banner, but my garage does not have the bike upgrade features/graphics.
When will update 1.86 be fully available on Windows?
Are you sure you’re running 1.86? Because if you were, then selecting a bike in the Garage should show you the upgrade features.
The 1.86 rollout should finish today during the Pacific US day.
Two of us had controller issues this morning on our TTT. Our standard procedure is to turn off the offending controller and continue on, but now when you do that the game no longer recognizes that you have steering. As you know this massively changes the draft dynamics when everyone else has steering. It would be great if you could switch this back so if you start with steering in the pens you are recognized as having steering throughout the race even if you have to power one off like before.
I am still waiting for update for Mac mini M4 , is that a today thing ?
Thanks
Glad you asked this… just upgraded and was going mad how to update.
Is it automatic for the mini?
Yes, if you haven’t received it yet then you should get it later on today (during US Pacific daytime).
The Zwift launcher will automatically check to see if the update is available for you.
Groovy!
Thanks
It does say upgrade any 3 bikes from the same manufacturer to get the updated so if you are on a dedicated event bike that shouldn’t count
