Game Update v 1.45 [August 2023]

No more rider shadows? Latest Mac iOS, latest update. MacBook Pro M2.

Thanks For the updates!!

Same with me, David.

The points between levels definitely needs to escalate from level to level. It does and then it doesnā€™t. Itā€™s a way to get around no making new levels all the time. Leave levels 1-20. But to get to 21, 10k. 22, 11k. 23, 12kā€¦ā€¦ launch a rebalance with a new level unlock to say 100. Long carrot game. Thereā€™s lots of fun ways to earn XP as well they could gamify (monthly missions, monthly races, etc). Doesnā€™t have to be huge XP but enough to chase and keep people going.

Exactly so. I was hoping for a step up like youā€™re talking about with each level above 50. Right now, Iā€™m doing things to keep from getting XP cuz when I get to 60 then weā€™re just riding. The non-XP game is a little challengingā€¦

I dare say increasing the number of levels is problematic for Zwift with their focus on attracting new subscribers. Someone new has to believe that getting to the top level of the game is achievable. It would already take someone new a number of years to get to level 60 if not longer on average Iā€™d guess.

My Bluetooth by phone has crashed on every ride since the update at approximately 17 minutes (screenshot time maybe?) Causing my power and zwift play to disconnect.

Itā€™d random from within the group and not power up related as its been doing this for a few game releases now with zwift play enabled

Rider shadows seem to be gone with my M2 MBP 14". On the bright side, it seems to be using a higher graphics profile.

It sounds like the M2 is now getting the same profile as the M1, which is a severely nerfed High profile that is worse than Medium. High profile on macs is not very different from Basic.

Dang, thatā€™s disappointing.

I completely agree that going into a game thinking the max is impossible would be frustrating. I wish we knew what the rider base in terms of bell curve within levels. Iā€™m a weekly cyclist without all the badges and level 44, so I know I have a while to go, but maxing out isnā€™t my goal, seeing the progress bar moving isā€¦
If they made it 100 with that escalating scale so current riders arenā€™t at max upon release it could give folks something to strive for. Then again maybe those that are max donā€™t careā€¦

There was another update this morning, US Pacific Daylight, but it was still showing as 1.45.0. Anything to report?

Another day, another issue with the Zwift Play.

Iā€™m using v1.45 on Windows 10, a Kickr Bike v1 and ZP updated.

I started my ride with B Jacques. After 5 minutes, I got the know expected ā€œno more Ride On bomb progress circle and only haptic feedback on the leftā€. After another five, I got absolutely no feedback at all.
Then I moved to a group ride, during which I quickly realized that the brake werenā€™t working. But the steering was fine.
Still no feedback at all for the Ride On bombs, but based on the thumbs coming down from the sky, it seemed to actually launch the RO bombs.

The Zwift Play are still labelled as being under Beta so I understand that issues are to be expected, but since I got them, the experience they provide keep getting worse so Iā€™m starting to worry about their future.

Chat in the climb portal is broken, as is the power-up selection, and 10th point markers are missing on the descent.

For the last couple of updates, my settings have been reset are logging in again on ATV.

Things like:

Controller Haptic (I had set to off)
HoloReplays
Leaderboards

Anyone else seeing this? Very annoying!

sorry where can i download updating 1.43S

I also lost details and shadows on my Macbook Pro today - but only in part of a ride.
Itā€™s not ā€œM2ā€, but I have a dedicated external GPU attached (Zwift is bound to that eGPU).

I have a stream as well, from todayā€™s Ladder race, and when looking at it in retrospect I actually had shadows and detail in the beginning, but it disappeared after a while. Then I went into the settings and confirmed that ā€œUltraā€ settings were still enabled:

Afterwards when I joined the race, shadows and details came back. So, maybe the conclusion is that it was just cloudy for a while?

That is only resolution, not the graphics profile.

Oh. So where can I find that information now?
I think I used to find it in Zwiftalizer as well.

Now I went to Zwiftalizer, signed in and tried to upload/analyze the FIT file from todayā€™s ride, but that one failed as well (claimed the file was empty). :man_shrugging:
