Game Update v 1.114 [May 2026]

Everyone please update at your earliest convenience.

I don’t know the nature of the problem they are trying to fix but everything I’ve seen about the accelerated view makes me want it gone even if it worked as intended.

Same here. I would rather see it at normal speed I guess than this gameified speed views.

The scenery looked great and I would love to free ride it more.

It should be a loop off of Tempus Fugit, not a separate world.

the jungle would be even better, then you could string together a nice all gravel route… but I don’t think they will be making Watopia any bigger unfortunately. I’ve heard it is at it’s size limit for the potatoes out there still running Zwift.

This latest layout is amazing. It keeps everything in view. The “next up”, “for you” events, the “Zwift challenges” and then the “RoboPacers”, etc. The layout is well organised for ease of choice and access to my events or other events. It’s a well designed layout.

Must take all of 5 secs to scroll past them - what a nightmare!

The point is that it wouldn’t be difficult to make it more convenient.

I’m coming to your house and I’m gonna move all your cutlery to a different spot in the kitchen … or maybe to your garage.

And I’m leaving a mahoosive cardboard box in your hallway that you have to navigate round every time you enter or leave, despite the fact that you finished with that box ages ago …

No actually…
It doesn’t.

Also, the “most recent” breaks A LOT.
Ever since the menu change, I can say I’ve cut back on pacer bot riding a significant amount because I find it more frustrating to get to it in the menu than other things nowadays, and I’m being genuine.

Zwift has “Netflix-ized” their own main menu and for no reason; at least for Netflix it’s to control where the money is going… for Zwift it doesn’t matter.

The scaling or lack there of of the main menu is a joke and it isn’t funny.

This is a to-scale preview of my setup for the record on a 32" TV.

For some of you you may not think that it’s a big deal.

On a PC, “horizontal scrolling” IS NOT A THING!
It was tried by websites over a decade ago and pushed SO HARD when tablets became more popular… and they STILL FAILED. Every website is now vertical scrolling focus because it didn’t take long for them to realize that horizontal scrolling does not function well when everything was developed with only vertical scrolling in mind.

The amount of time it takes for me to scroll over to Yumi is significantly higher than if it were just another page in the main menu (where it should be), and then right in my face under C pace.

I genuinely wouldn’t be doing RP rides from the main menu AT ALL if I was using B or A pace partners. And I am willing to bet this is a limiting factor for a lot more users than anyone is willing to admit.

For the record none of this changed in my main menu reset ZHQ has seemingly thrown on me.
All that did was swap the “For Me” and the challenge cards.

Meanwhile; iPad users have a tighter / more users visible UI than PC? Why?

The UI across the board is poor and whoever is in charge clearly does not use the software and it shows. It’s not hard to get this stuff right.

We just want someone’s ear.
Instead we have to yell at the wall.

Here’s a report that goes back all the way to 2005 when horizontal scrolling was barely a thing… probably only on Macs if I had to guess and their old icon layout if anyone remembers.

2005!!!
And the still infancy age of the internet was already declaring how bad horizontal scrolling is for the user.

Mailchimp even has a statement on horizontal scrolling; and that’s saying something. Know them, hate them, however you may feel… Mailchimp probably has among the highest outreach programs on the web these days across users of all device types.
Even they call it not a wise choice.

There’s a time and a place for horizontal scrolling.
Required user interaction is not one of them.

I can go on and on for probably literal ages from companies around the world that have taken a dive into the problems of the “magazine view” on devices; many of which even state that horizontal scrolling is still bad on touch devices because of its rarity and lack of sense in function; where something vertical scrolling when given either a wheel, or a touch screen that’s vertical… just makes sense.

To each their own I suppose. What do you use to navigate the screen? It clearly can’t be put down to laziness, as you make the effort to exercise, but it just amazes me people struggle with pressing the down arrow 3 or 4 times and then the right arrow maybe 10 or 15 times. I certainly wouldn’t let the few seconds that takes, derail my training plans, if that involves riding with the pacer bots for any significant length of time.

Trackball mouse, since my desk area is small (actually, for anyone curious, a cheap trackball is great for a lot of things and really not difficult to get used to and navigate with. Highly recommended)

Since a mouse would always be the first thing I reach for I never thought to use the keyboard for navigation because I’m frankly not sure how the program responds; for people my age, I’ve never had to not navigate without a mouse. I’ve been using a Macintosh or PC since I was maybe 4 years old, always with a mouse.

It’s not about derailing; it’s about just poor user experience and going for something else.
It’s like certain drink or desert menus restaurants don’t show but have for some reason; it’s there, but you have to know it’s there..

Just booted Zwift to even see how arrow key navigation works on Zwift.

I find it even more weird that you have to press the arrow key to keep moving. Holding down a key does nothing, which I also find abnormal.

Which as a reminder, that still means for me to navigate to Yumi for example, I have to do the following:

down down down, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, enter, enter.

that’s a lot of inputs
That most definitely takes more than 5 seconds! :joy:

You’re absolutely right. I too just logged on and first attempt - 6.57 seconds!:joy::+1:

Good idea. With a sub menu of A, B, C & D pacers.

It’s not even an original idea. Zwift already thought of it with their other categories!

Even without submenus, smaller tiles arranged in a 4 column x 5 rows would be very easy to navigate. 4 columns width should fit on pretty much any monitor without any horizontal scrolling needed.

I wonder if it’s possible.. if they don’t add a top line menu option for RPs, could they somehow program the carousel sensitivity to be much higher? Ie. speed at which a click and drag scrolling operates based on the actual mouse speed? While doing this now it’s very slow, and even doing a very fast mouse drag, the tile carousel brakes very very quickly.. If they just let off on the brakes a good amount.

It’s already bad enough with the garage; where the more bikes you have, the faster the scrolling is. My garage for example skips 1-2 products each scroll because of how many bikes I have from the drop shop.

I just fail to understand why Challenges and Robos aren’t their own “tab” in the main menu. There is plenty of space on all devices.

But let’s be real here.

The Main menu UI is so bad as also pointed out with David’s wonderful screenshot which is so lucky to not include the AI feature reminding him that he should really do a threshold effort today…

The main menu on all devices now doesn’t even SHOW 2 rows.

The amount of leading between rows is so extreme and whoever decides this stuff is so disconnected… that the information they’re trying to show on the main menu… doesn’t even fit.

How far we’ve fallen from the “new main menu” release back in 2022, where 4 rows of cards were shown… now doesn’t even fit 2 rows for some users.

(Why we’re all experiencing different main menus is only making this even more messy)

Again, I don’t understand why whoever comes up with the UI is so afraid of menu pages; and items being different sizes (looking at you HUD updates)

I fail to understand why we still don’t have this:
where everything could fit, and be faster and easier to navigate.

excuse the crude concept here from work.

Zwift puts out a lot of talk for their 24/7 Group Rides… and then hides it in a weird spot down near the bottom of the main menu. Again, it’s almost as if whomever does the UI stuff doesn’t use the product or have any clue what the marketing team puts in their emails or what the company is even doing or selling.

Bigger isn’t better; and the amount of wasted space is astronomical.

Just to also remind the fact that the UI/UX on iPhone and Android Companion is completely different featureset wise. And the UI/UX between tablets, ATV, and PC is also not equal.

I still wonder if the programming team at ZHQ even realizes there’s things the Android version of Companion can do that iOS can’t.

Showcasing why this channel of communication is so important.

Okay well I’m still going to be a pest and remind you that today’s ride will be a threshold effort based on the fact that you’ve probably ridden once or twice or even every day this week :joy:

The AI demands Z4+ !
