I partly agree but letâs imagine you think zwift is really good then after an update something changes, it either stops some functionality for you that used to be there, changed the way the game works or introduces a graphics bug or glitch that spoils your in game enjoyment? What then? just say âOh wellâ donât mention it and cancel your subscription and find another platform or ride outside? Or should you point it out on this forum hoping for improvement or a solution?
If no one flagged any bugs then how would anything get fixed?
I get that a lot of people are far too furious about things but then this is the internet and people like to get mad about pretty much everything so 8just ignore the excessive ranting. Biut what doesnât help is if someone posts something that bothers them and someone says âpfffft, stop complaining, just ride outside or something if you donât like it. Not going to spoil my dayâ it is only going to make things worse.
there are always going to be people who go over the top but a lot of people are flagging things that, for whatever reason, are making their experience of zwift worse and they should be listened to.
I say this as someone who has accumulated over 70,000 miles and has an in game riding time of over 141 days so iâm not someone who is easily put off riding in zwift!
there are people who fly off the handle far too easily but on the other side there are people who are far too quick to say âjust suck it upâ if it doesnât completely stop the game working.
I want zwift to be as good as it can be not just grateful it exists and put up with annoying stuff because the alternative (it not existing) is worse.
TL;DR? pointing out things that are wrong with zwift, if done in a reasonable way, is very much needed to help it improve.
I pointed out on a recent thread that some folk are obviously MUCH more invested in their Zwifting experience than I am. As a result their demands when thereâs a glitch of some sort verge on somewhere between teenage tantrum and comic obsession. I get that, if theyâre paying a subscription, they see it as a right to a 100% fully-functioning system but thatâs simply not realistic given the complexity and variation involved. It reminds me of the Microsoft vs Apple distinction. Folk complain about bugs in Windows compared to Apple OSs but forget that Microsoft donât operate the same closed environment. Maybe something like Peleton would be a better bet for these folks?
In the meantime thereâs no harm in identifying - and helping to narrow down - bugs in Zwift, and giving a little praise where itâs due is just a nice, human, thing to do.
Iâve no issue with people complaining but it needs to be devoid of inflammatory comments such as:-
Zwift donât care about paying customers
Donât they test anything
They break everything with each release
Spaghetti code
Zwift causing medical ailments
Also complaining about the most minor of issues such as
Dinosaurs or other non real life features
Going around a roundabout the wrong way
Sure if something isnât working that genuinely affects your activity such as ERG not working or unable to pair a device then lodge your opinion but donât make it personal.
The team donât deliberately break a feature and itâs impossible to eliminate every bug or catch everything in testing.
I am curious as to what happened to .1, .2 etc releases? Every update now is a major update, and no such thing as interim patch/bug-fix releases anymore?
the .1 and .2 are patches to fix the things that broke in the monthly update
We moved to a 2 week release cycle. There generally isnât a need for a patch inbetween.
Ok, though the .x versions were typically dedicated bug fixes, and I imagine with the bi-weekly release updates, that Zwift is also trying to include additional functionality or features each time? (which tends to have propensity to introduce unforeseen other bugs).
Theyâre a combination of new features and fixes (which tbf the .0 releases were also)
I agree with you. If you find a problem, point it out and move on. Stop continually whining about it. Zwift will take notes of it and try to fix it
With my job, Iâm gone lots. So I donât get to ride near as much as I want to.
I got home Saturday evening. I did a quick TT, then I rode with the Robo Pacers to cool down. I was amazed how well teleport worked.
Sunday evening I did an OG race. Everything worked as expected
Monday I did a Coastal Cruise Ride, then I Kinda went on a ride a bout. Seen a friend of mine was riding, I teleported to him and chatted for a few. Then off on my peddle. I was able to turn what ever way I wanted at the junctions. I was able to turn around whenever I wanted. Plus I seen some People using the coffee stop. Just some of the glitches that I read people complaining about. Everything seemed good to me. Cheers
Have you noticed the road under construction around the volcano? Does anyone have any clue about what might happen there?
Climb Portal
Itâs the climb portal, check out this post on what to expect
One week in, and I have been using the teleport feature every ride. The convenience of starting warm up with Bernie and increase the tempo by changing bot from the action bar without any hassle is a game changer!
But it got me thinking; could we have a similar feature for bike changing?
Imagine starting Tour of Fire and Ice with the Tron, then when you get to the dirt section in the jungle, engage the action bar and change to your Scott Spark until the ADZ portal where you quickly flip to the Specialized Aethos with the Meilenstein, and up you go!
Or you could maybe choose some electric motored bike where itâs even easier! Or maybe the feather powerup could be available every 2 minutes out of 5 or something?
Definitely need names. Especially when weâre seeing the current w/kg which can be confusing.

I just rode and Iâm getting the same on the mini map
Iâm also getting black squares again but not on dirt , itâs when there is confetti
the camera choice on fanview seems rather broken no matter what camera i choose it seems to rotate the view.
We have a fix going out in the next release that aims to further mitigate these black squares issues - thank you for reporting this.
