Some group rides do not enforce the fence. If I go with the front riders and come is say, fifth, the results posted shiow that I was maybe 53rd!!! What determines how riders finish?
it is random, no one “wins” a group ride, you are supposed to ride together, not off the front.

The random results are what happens when a ride is planned for a set amount of time. If you pick a group ride that is planned for a specific distance, the results will be in finishing order, though if late join is enabled, not all riders will have completed the entire route.
