Eliminate "Caps" in all the big events (Tour de Zwift etc)

Hi Zwift - I’ve been using Zwift for around a decade now and am obviously a fan, so thank you for what you do.
I do have a pet peeve however. All of the big rides now place every single cyclist in a matching kit, including some kind of cap.
I don’t mind wearing the same jersey as 700 other riders doing the ride - but I have never liked wearing the same cap as those 700 other riders, and having us all look like automatons with zero individuality.
Ideally I’d prefer zero caps, and people to have just whatever headgear or lack of headgear they usually ride in.
If not that - in a long series like the Tour de Zwift… can you only make roughly half the rides require the cap?
And/or - can there be an option as you’re about to enter the pen to choose whether or not you want the cap? A message that will come up saying “Cap - Yes / No?” and you get to choose in that moment?

Thank you.

I agree with this. Especially if the big events aren’t showing the number of zwifters and your placement in the right hand bar, it makes it nearly impossible to identify friends in a pack if you’re trying to ride together.

Maybe they can default folks to the kits with caps but allow folks to change to whatever they want while in the pen? Most folks would keep things as they are, but if you did change your gear you’d be pretty recognizable.

Edit: I’m just assuming you can’t currently change kit/caps in the pen for these events, I’ve never tried it.

I agree, have a different cap or a default self cap would make it easier to see ME.
With so many riders in the same place, not sure if everyone can be individually kitted.

I just want to see which guy is me.

There is the option to highlight yourself in groups.

I hate the highlight. I would much prefer to choose my own headwear so I can track myself.

I’ve been switching to the Atomic Cruiser for these massive ‘non-race’ events. Makes it much easier to see yourself in the crowd, since nobody else seems to use it

I was riding next to someone on an Atomic Cruiser yesterday on Muckle Yin.

I think my last ride about 50 other people around me, also thought that was the solution to distinguish themselves.

Couldn’t agree more. My favourite part of the highlight feature is that they gave us the option to turn it off. And honestly good on them for doing so, they aren’t always so generous.

I’d much rather have a choice of headwear in these events.
