Customizable Workout HUD [May 2026]

We’re introducing a new customizable HUD (heads up display) for workouts, giving you more control over the data that matters most during your training.

Whether you’re taking on Zwift Camp: Breakthrough or working through any of Zwift’s 1,000+ workouts, you can now tailor your in-ride experience to better match your goals.

At the center of the workout screen, you’ll now see four configurable data fields instead of the previous fixed metrics.

Choose from 13 biometric data points—including cadence, heart rate, power-to-weight (W/kg), and more—so you can focus on what drives your performance. We plan on adding metrics that show power, HR, or cadence for the current interval in an upcoming release.

We’ve also introduced a dedicated workout HUD settings section, making it easy to customize your metrics. These preferences are specific to workouts, so your chosen fields will automatically switch when you move between workout mode and free riding.

The ride stats side panel is now available during workouts as well. It can be toggled on from the action bar and includes additional configurable metrics, giving you even more visibility without cluttering your main view.

Does this mean that if we turn off “CADENCE”, we can finally get rid of that SPIN FASTER ^ stuff?

Doubtful, as the HUD is just showing the data, or not, that is being collected. Have you tried just not connecting a cadence sensor to see if that stops the messages?

@shooj If only the Spilts feature screen could also be available to be toggled on during workout mode, with each new interval auto triggering a new ‘split’, this would be exactly what is needed to show the Avg Power, HR, Cadence for each interval :crossed_fingers: :folded_hands:

I know you mentioned in the main release notes post that this is being looked at as additional metrics to be able to select (so good that feedback is being taken notice of). This should have been in the initial release in my opinion as it is the key piece of (currently missing) information that would enhance the workout mode on Zwift.

That’s what I currently do when I get annoyed with it, that or put another window over the ZwiftApp to block that through the section where it wants me to do 120rpm or whatever.

Hey, I just updated to 1.113 and did a workout this morning, but I still have the old layout and no options in my settings to change the values. Did I miss something? Thanks.

Same - on Windows and updated to .113 but the settings menu does not show the buttons for “Standard” or “Workout” so cannot configure the workout HUD.

Thanks both for raising your hands. We’re looking into this.

We believe we found a server-side fix. Would you please log out / log back into Zwift and confirm that you see the new customizable workout HUD?

Hi @shooj, thanks, that did indeed fix it. Options are now available in settings and the new layout is active when loading a workout.

Thanks!

Same here; all looks good now. Thanks!

Any plans to do something similar with the otherwise excellent workout screen on the companion app?

@shooj I just launched Zwift on my Apple TV. In cycling mode, I can customize two different HUDs. In running mode, I can’t adjust the HUD settings at all. Will that feature be added at some point?

Why do they push vertically instead of maintaining their defined positions?

Agreed. I would like each selected element to have a specific line on which it is placed, not be moved up if nothing is selected for the field/s above.

the font size of the target power is way too small

what a mediocre update.
Yes, you can customize. But it will diplay what it likes to display. And, the worst of it, the update basically killed the HR monitor. It now takes about three minutes to connect and then it will show about 45 - at most 70. Nothing real at all.

Not sure what you mean by ‘it will display what it likes to display’. Can you elaborate? And my HRM is working just fine. And, judging solely by the lack of comments about this recently, I’m doubting it has anything to do with the update. Have you checked your battery?

The font is great on my 55" tv. The master scale/font size needs a semi-custom user selection though.
