You have to be in the know, which means be on the right facebook groups or join a club where someone will act as a conduit for the info.
Other way around is how I read it, those are current restrictions. But itās obviously very early days for Clubs.
One thing that would be an interesting potential development further down the line would be Club vs Club tournaments. Knockouts, leagues etc.
I thought that, but then I got to āa customisable results serviceā which didnāt seem to fit the theme of āthese are current limitationsā. So then I was wondering if there was a benefit to being able to limit club membership that Iād missed. =)
Itās a non-exhaustive list of the problems with Clubs that would need to be overcome to make viable a mostly-private calendar.
But, it seems, the lack of a clickable link only applies to older pre-Beta clubs: I see no such option, nor see some of the features that others have mentioned elsewhere. In fact, there isnāt even an option to create a private event - only a list of those on the public calendar
Thanks. Iāve never been good at secret handshakes so I guess Iāll remain in the dark
sounds like you are still using the old clubs beta.
Iām not sure what ZHQ plans are for those if they will be converted to new clubs or whether you are better to create a new club and request that your public rides get moved over to be managed under the new club.
problem being the old clubs have much larger limits than new clubs so asking clubs to kick members out will never go down well.
Currently in clubs, I can create a club event, then place it on the public calendarā¦ Not that many barriers at the momentā¦
It actually works well minus the odd quirk that needs fixing.
it wonāt be on the public calendar for any non club member to see though.
Sure? Itās in zwiftpower so anyone can then join from there.(if I make it a public event open to anyone with link)
Probably on your radar, but Iāve seen rotating āevent highlightsā address this very issue in some spaces. You have your established events and then enough slots that new/bubbling under series can be introduced.
But this probably works best if you have multiple calendar levels (think pro-am, prestige, community/per-region).
For me personally I do find it frustrating and not very easy to find series/events that I could participate in when a good portion of these appear to be hidden from the events calendar.
If they were at least visible in someway, it would at least be possible to read the event details and see what is being offered even if the entry was only open to a club.
well yeah if you have added it to zwiftpower it will be public there but it wonāt appear in companion as public
