Crash after todays update [1.33.5] [March 15 2023] [SOLVED]

This worked for me. Many Thanks

Coincidentally I did all those steps as I manually deleted all Zwift references after uninstalling through control panel. To no avail unfortunately as it just does not work.

@shooj will new update only fix language thing or are hopefully other flaws in update uncovered as well? Since something else is seemingly wrong.

I may have been the sole MacOS person initially from the time of Shuji’s post. The language workaround has worked for me but my initial comment to support yesterday still stands that the permissions information needs to be updated to meet the changes brought in as part of Ventura. Also requesting I reset PRAM on a Silicon M1 Mac which does not manage PRAM/NVRAM the same way as older Mac Books with Intel chips.

One issue that is still occurring (and may be unrelated) is that my Zwift install (if it crashes out prior to trying the workaround above) will recognise an Ant+ adaptor is connected but is unable to find any Ant+ devices even if they are active/awake. Also (again may be unrelated) but since reinstalling as part of my troubleshooting before contacting support last night Zwift is very sporadic at picking up the names of Ant+ devices (e.g. my HR monitor is usually named as is my 4iiii power meter to save me remembering ANT IDs),

I have done two full restarts of Zwift since trying the workaround and each time it does go into the proper start screen. Account is from back when Zwift first started so again in my case it seems to be a lack of language information tied to the account.

Hello everyone,

Experiencing exactly the same problem on MacBook Pro 15" 2018my. Changing language settings back and forth (surprisingly) helps.

Meanwhile Zwift support has advised me to reinstall the drivers in device manager etc. :man_facepalming:

That’s quite poor to be honest. There seems to be a real disconnect between this forum and the support agents.

It’s no wonder that this is the first port of call most people make to get assistance. I’m not saying that’s right but it seems to work in terms of finding solutions.

I’m not getting to the pairing screen. Zwift is crashing when I click on Let’s go. I did a clean install (which took ages). But I’m unable to get Zwift working on windows. Never had this issue.

Today it is the 17th. For me the problem is not fixed. Not good.

Seeing it on a Mac laptop also. Restarted computer. Same issue.

And you’ve changed the language settings?

We are having the same issue. We have done all the updates, updated windows and have no issue logging in. Zwift then recognizes the Tacx Unit & Heart monitor, and then shuts down… Very frustrating.

And the language settings?

can’t believe the language settings did the trick!
To me, it is a bit like when BlackBerry used to say, take out your battery shake it and put it back in! Thank you for your help and advice. My wife is happily drifting away as we speak.

Great news.

That is the unofficial fix until it’s formally patched soon. Seems to be a little random about who it affects.

Ride On!

Is the language fox a one time thing or are people having to repeat the process.
Last night it seemed to fix my pairing issues.

you shouldn’t have to repeat it

One thing i found that at least let me ride was go to Just Watch mode. Then go back to me. If i had signed up for an event then it would allow me to ride that event

Yes, having same issues on 2 different computers but only on my account. My wife isn’t having the issue. Work around of language did not work for me. What did wwork was clicking the “Just Watch” Once in Just Watch mode i switched “Back to Me” and then i could ride in watopia or if i had signed up for an event with the companion App i could join that event. Re-installing Zwift didn’t help

PLEASE FOLLOW THE CHANGE THE LANGUAGE FIX.

That will sort it.

Is that perhaps because you’ve had your account much longer? This problem only seems to affect older accounts.

I tried the language fix. It didn’t work for me.
