Config option to stop avatars drinking

It would actually be a useful visual reminder to be able to configure how often you want your avatar to drink. Time, or effort based, or don’t show etc. Low priority though.

There should absolutely be an option to turn this off or set the frequency. I would prefer not to have to change my bike so I don’t have to watch myself drink so much water… Or if it’s related to cadence speed up when I want to go easy…:sunglasses: Please fix this… :bird:

Why don’t you want to change your bike? If you have a bike ‘with a water bottle’ it’s likely one of the slower bikes in Zwift. Maybe just switch to a better bike, and then not switch again?

I find this feature very annoying and distracting too. It takes away the fun of the workout. I emailed Zwift about it and they replied that there wasn’t a way to turn it off. They suggested that if I posted something here in the forum, then there might be a chance their development team will look into it, if there’s enough people complain about it. Please do something about it ZWIFT!

You can change to one of the bikes that doesn’t have a water bottle.

After trial and error I have found some frames that don’t allow the chronically dehydrated avatar to drink.
It’s still a dumb feature. Nobody needs to drink as much as Zwift seems to think

Well it’s linked to your cadence, so it seems you’re not pedaling fast enough. The drinking spot is right between avatar sitting and avatar standing when doing very low Cadence stuff uphill. And yes, your frame needs to have a bottle in order for your avatar to drink. Help yourself out.

Well it’s dumb AND annoying then. I drink when I’m thirsty, not when my cadence is deemed too low by the game.

Puhh, If you expect your avatar to behave like IRL, then you might be expecting to much. Personally, I never cared about what my avatar does, as long as my power output is okay.

My avatar never checks over his shoulder, not once, even when riding on very busy roads or in a pack, or when pulling out onto the road from the shoulder. This is dangerous and irresponsible avatar behavior, and it needs to change.

You’re right, a lot of the animation and game features are ridiculous and nothing like real cycling but there is something particularly dumb about the avatar’s incessant drinking.

puhh, happy for you, ride on
