I suspect this has been the case since I got a new phone a little while back (iphone 16, now running iOS26) but i cannot get maps to appear on the companion app. Have checked network and other settings, reinstalled the app, etc as referenced through previous posts on this sort of issue with no result. Issue appears to be Location Services where the Companion app simply doesn’t appear as needed to allow me to provide authorisation.
Hi @Martin_Phelan welcome to Zwift forums.
Shuij at Zwift HQ here. Thanks for searching the forums, as this issue comes up on a regular basis. I peeked at your server logs for clues.
How long has this been happening? I noticed your iPhone was on iOS v18.7.1 as of October 19.
Then on October 21, the OS had been upgraded to v 26.0.1. Was this around the time you started having issues?
Next step: I’d like to suggest you upgrade to iOS v26.1 so you don’t have to do the next steps twice. Every time Apple releases a new OS version, it strips the app permissions, and you have to re-allow them. The easiest way to do that is by uninstalling the Zwift Companion app, and re-installing it from the Apple App Store.
When the app asks you for Local Network Acces, say yes. The Zwift Companion app and the main Zwift app see each other over WiFI (not Bluetooth). Other things that might get in the way are detailed on this Support Article. Please make sure that none of those apply to your local network?
