Close the gap!

In the real world I ride both a road bike and a TTbike, as a Zwift beginner I chose the TT frame to start out with. After a few weeks I magically unlocked the S-works Tarmac, very cool, so I switched to that frame. BLIP BLIP BLIP, CLOSE THE GAP! 6m, 2m, BLIP BLIP BLIP, CLOSE THE GAP! BLIP 6m, 4m, 6m, BLIP BLIP BLIP, CLOSE THE GAP!
I quit the ride, and started trying to figure out what function I had switched on. Drafting, which is great and a real world phenomenon incorporated into the game, needs a notification button/switch/mute/thing in the settings. I’ve never ‘zwifted’ without dozens of other riders all around, must I be made aware of how many meters from every other damn rider needs to be closed? I now know returning to the TT bike will eliminate those constant pesky popups, but that should not be the only option.

It would be good to have the option to turn off drafting altogether. With the courses having so many riders on them at once the notifications are irritating but more so is the constant ‘ghosting’ through other riders when the draft is in effect.

I’m not sure but maybe one way to turn off drafting would be to turn off your Zwift device’s internet connectivity after starting the ride. Zwift will still run with no internet (I’ve lost internet during a ride before). As long as you reconnect the device internet before ending the ride, it will be saved - Zwift will warn you if you do not have internet when you choose to end the ride.

Totally agree, the “close the gap” message is really annoying. Can you imagine riding with friends who were constantly telling you to close the gap! I’d like to turn it off completely.
