Cleaned up PC to boost performance, unable to load zwift after

Hello,

I have ran CCcleaner and uninstalled lots of unused programs. Mainly to boost performance as zwift is slow with loading.

After it i started with a message that an app was needed for the game overlay
i reinstalled XBOX game bar as apparently it was needed

After it i got a message during install saying zwift encountered a problem could not create SSL/TLS secure channel

After some checks in the firewall it went again. But now the program still crashes.

The log says the following
[15:30:11] ERROR: Accessory::GetThumbnailTextureHandle Error - Asset Load Failure - Cannot find thumbnail texture - UI/WhiteOrangeTheme/JerseyIcons/Zwift_RaceLeader_thumb.tga

[15:30:14] ERROR: Accessory::GetThumbnailTextureHandle Error - Asset Load Failure - Cannot find thumbnail texture - UI/WhiteOrangeTheme/JerseyIcons/Twenty242021_thumb.tga

[15:30:16] ERROR: Accessory::GetThumbnailTextureHandle Error - Asset Load Failure - Cannot find thumbnail texture - UI/WhiteOrangeTheme/Customization/RunningShirts/TealPink2020_thumb.tga

[15:30:16] ERROR: Accessory::GetThumbnailTextureHandle Error - Asset Load Failure - Cannot find thumbnail texture - UI/WhiteOrangeTheme/Customization/RunningShorts/TealPink2020_thumb.tga

[15:30:18] ERROR: ZwiftApp Crashed

I have reinstalled zwift, but this did not solve my problem

Two things.

I would not recommend using CCcleaner ever.

the game bar is not needed.

Do you have admin rights on the pc?
Do you have antivirus and cloud document storage active, these can cause issues.

I don’t use it but out of curiosity why?

I have read to many times that CCcleaner removed more than what is needed causing more issues than what it solved.

I have used it long ago with some success and also had a total mess. I have been told by a few IT people to rater stay clear.

If you have a mechanical hard drive in your system, your best solution to slow loading is to install Windows on a solid state drive (SSD). If you have less than 8GB RAM you might get some performance benefit from adding memory. Reinstalling Windows might also address anything that went wrong when you ran CCcleaner.

Changing the Zwift installation directories can also cause problems when the app looks for the files it needs.

Yes i have admin rights on the pc

The normal windows anti virus is running all cloud storage are inactive

I guess i have been over active with removing programs i thought i did not need

So based on the log it looks like zwift is not able to access files it that correct?

So most of the time zwift crashes after

ERROR: Accessory::GetThumbnailTextureHandle Error - Asset Load Failure - Cannot find thumbnail texture - UI/WhiteOrangeTheme/JerseyIcons/Zwift_RaceLeader_thumb.tga

However i managed to get zwift startup up once and then it just continues in the log after not finding the thumbnail mentioned above. So this is not the issue. It just states Zwift app crashed.

What can i do to investigate further?

btw i also updated drivers with CCcleaner

You can start by looking at your windows Crash logs.

so i am now stuck in the following part of the log

[17:13:23] [INFO] Auxiliary Controller failed to connect to socket: ‘Kan geen verbinding maken omdat de doelcomputer de verbinding actief heeft geweigerd.’ (10061)

[17:13:28] NETWORK:error (6) sending player state

I have checked the windows crash logs, but there is no new entry at every crash.

I have ran system file checker tool of windows and Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool

Windows seems to be fine

decided to go for a fresh windows install. Zwift works again.

Thanks for the replies
