Is there any way to change the voice used for “Ride on”? Maybe it’s just me, but I find the American twang of what seems to be the only male voice setting unsettling at best. It would be really nice to be able select a voice with a different accent or something.
I guess I could lie and same I’m female. The female voice my wife seems to get when giving “Ride Ons” is somewhat more neutral.
I wouldn’t say I find it “unsettling”, I’d say it feels “a bit Californian surfer”, or “very American”. I’m ok with that, even if that’s not “me”.
Could be good to get some international flavour in there. Let’s have a Yorkshire accent on there, or a Brummie, or a French person shouting “ALLEZ ALLEZ ALLEZ!!!”
Whatever happens, we should have a cowbell sound. Need more cowbell.
Each to their own! I like them; they’re a way to show connection in a group, especially when you don’t have group Ride Ons.
And you can easily stop them if you switch off the game sounds. Of course, if there were more ways to switch individual sounds on an off, that would give us all the chance to customise how we want it.
To my knowledge, there’s no way to change the Ride On voice. There are only two voice options: one for male avatars and one for female avatars.
Your suggestion seems good to me, however, and if this is a change you’d like to see added to Zwift, I’d suggest you search the Feature Requests section of the forums, see if you can find a related thread, and upvote it.
If you can’t find anything exactly like what you’re wanting, feel free to create a new post in Feature Requests, and others will have the opportunity to upvote it. It’s my understanding that popular requests are more likely to be given consideration as Zwift’s developers look to improve Zwift.
